No! I knew it was only a matter of time but this still hurts. One of the all-time greats and one of my favorite actors.

This is a tough one for me. Loved him as an actor and also his accomplishments off the screen. A man of integrity who will be sorely missed.

Best baseball movie and best scene from a baseball movie in my opinion. I think I might rewatch this today in his honor

One of my Covid movie projects was going back and watching or rewatching a lot of Redford movies.

Damn, that's sad. One of the all-time great actors. Only one acting Oscar nomination in his career, I think, (for The Sting). That's kind of nuts.

Legendary actor and seemingly a great person overall. He’ll be missed.

One of the greatest actors, directors and activists of our time. Butch and Sundance ride again.

It's crazy to think : Two absolute legends and good friends, make two undisputed classic films over 4 years and then agree to never work together again over the next 30 years for fear of somehow sullying the legacy of their collaborations.

The mind reels at what could have been with these two...

I absolutely adore Sneakers, but for late career Redford you just can't beat All is Lost. Sneakers has such a great cast, Sidney Pointier, River Phoenix, David Straitharn, Sir Ben, Dan Ackroyd. All is Lost is all Bobby R.

He'll be missed. RIP, Kid.

So many great movies. The Natural, and All The President's Men are some of my all-time favorite movies. My introduction to his movies was The Electric Horseman which, while not one of his better-remembered movies, drew me in as a little kid because of Redford's magnetism. It was one of five movies he made with Jane Fonda. A River Runs Through It is probably my favorite of the movies he directed.

Re: Robert Redford dies at 89

All The Presidents Men is a movie I’ve seen countless times. Hell of an actor, damn good director, esp. Quiz Show. 70’s Redford was one of the coolest and most handsome men in Hollywood. This one really stinks.

Makes me think of other older legends who we still have….Eastwood, Nicholson, Hoffman. Not many left guys.

Looks like his last big Hollywood movie was Avengers Endgame 6 years ago. His last movie as the lead was The Old Man and the Gun in 2018.

The one I really liked was his third George Roy Hill collaboration, the Great Waldo Pepper. It occurs to me today that I never really did finish that. While I watched/rewatched something like 28 of his movies, I never watched the Candidate or rewatched films like the Sting or the Natural. It was the first time I ever watched Out of Africa though.

I saw that a few years ago . It was a nice little movie , the type they don’t make anymore.

I’m probably going to watch a Redford movie in tribute probably a 70s one, maybe Sneakers.

RIP to one of the last greats of American Cinema

Probably one of the best conceived sequences in any movie. Having the sparks rain down like fireworks celebrating his home run was genius filmmaking.
