I've decided to watch some of his movies I haven't seen so far. I started with the Blu-ray of Truth, which was quite good. Tell Them Willie Boy is Here is next and tomorrow I'll pop in the Blu-ray of All is Lost.

It's a caper film based on a Donald Westlake novel, it's funny and has a great supporting cast: George Segal, Paul Sand, Ron Liebman, Zero Mostel, and Moses Gunn, among others. Plus New York City location filming.

Don't forget a quick cameo from Mrs. Garrett herself! Great movie that figured out a way to have, instead of ONE heist scene, it's just heist scene after heist scene after heist scene. A bizarre analogy for sure, but it's like heist porn; take what people WANT to see in the genre, and just show it multiple times throughout the course of the film.

Oddly enough, as I'm looking at it, and I never caught the connection till now; Sneakers is kinda the same thing.

I was pretty sure I'd never heard of this movie before, but when I checked my list I must have seen the movie in 2008 and even after watching the trailer I don't really remember the movie. There was only one sequence that seemed familiar. So I guess I revist that movie too, since usually I have a really good movie memory.

Maybe it is not his most memorable but A Walk in the Woods a movie he did with Nick Nolte from 2015 was on one of the free movie LG channels.

Just remember to use closed captioning to understand what Nolte is saying.

20/20 had a special edition chronicling his life and career tonight.

I forgot about the Clearing another movie he did with another legend Willem Dafoe.

I’ve only ever seen two films he starred in, Sneakers and All the Presidents Men, and a couple he costarred in, Winter Soldier and Indecent Proposal, but I was a big fan of Quiz Show. Ordered a copy on dvd. Looking forward to revisiting it after 20 some odd years.

RIP

I wish Quiz Show got a blu-ray or 4k release and hope with this unfortunate news it gets fasttracked to production at least.

I wish this had a blu-ray release too and one of those $9.99 cheap blu-rays.

It's a "Chick Flick" but I've loved The Way We Were since I was a kid. Along with Annie Hall, one of the first sad ending romance films I remember watching. Both he and Barbra are so good in it -- so different but well-matched. It's an underrated classic, at least to me.

My mom fucking loved that movie and would openly weep if it ever came on. Even the theme song sung by Barbara got to her.

She used to basically say that Robert Redford was her "hall pass" in roundabout ways.

This was and is a favorite book of mine, but the movie was something I turned off quickly. May give it a watch again, but have low expectations.

It was ok

I think it had a lot of sex or dirty jokes so maybe the script was dumbed down from the book.
