I wonder if Netflix would allow an extended edition to go to theaters or disc?

Although Amazon had given me a delivery estimate of 9/8, my copy of the soundtrack arrived today. Not that I'm complaining.

Yeah, in the video I posted it showed that there was supposed to be an Olympics style competition, that actual Kpop groups do IRL, but the Sony Animation execs vetoed it because they didn't get it. So we got the fan signing event instead.

Although that was excluded in the finished film, it might be ported over to the sequel.

There have already been rumblings of a live action remake. I think those are mostly crap. However, if they did a live action prequel about the Sunlight Sisters or any of the other trios in the prologue, I'd be down for that.

Long, but definitely worth the watch. I really love this youtube channel.

My copy of the soundtrack (CD is in my car) came with random group member card, similar to a "real" Kpop album. I got Zoey, my favourite character.

Ha, I have a 2002 and it's... limping along. I'm not even sure the player even works still.

I'd recommend you give it a shot, but I'd hate for it to crap out on you and eat one of your CDs.

Not related. I like both channels. Cinema Sins for the comedy and especially when it's a movie I hate. Cinema Wins for the insight and all the directing techniques/cultural references/easter eggs that I missed.

The question of whether KPDH was popular in Korea was asked and answered earlier in this thread, but here’s a little more evidence just for fun.

I’ve seen a couple of these types of shows here – not KPDH related and definitely not quite this elaborate – and I have to say they blow nearly every fireworks show I’ve seen in my lifetime out of the water. Hope they catch on more.

ETA: A while back I posted some ‘random play dance’ clips, those big group karaoke-style dance-offs that are pretty much exclusively tied to K-pop (as in, the music). Another longstanding trend along similar lines is ‘K-Pop in public’ which are basically dance crews around the world reenacting the dances from the endless videos/songs – the evolution of flash mobs, I suppose. These are in league with all the ‘dancing in front of strangers to pop classics’ videos from America / Europe / Everywhere Else that have been on YT, TikTok, and Insta for years now, only the K-POP DEMON HUNTERS soundtrack has allowed a lot of these groups to push their average view counts from thousands to hundreds of thousands, even millions. It’s also interesting how many of the comments under these videos, regardless of where they’re produced, are in Korean.

I know it's very rare for Netflix to allow this, but I do hope the popularity of this movie convinces them to license it out to someone like Shout or Arrow for a nice 4K disc release. Toss in some of those dance performances or throw in drone show as special features too.

I just learned that Target has an exclusive soundtrack on sale for $9.99 this week. There is only one store within 5 miles that has it left in stock. I went ahead and placed an order for pickup later.

Apple Music has an extended edition of this soundtrack with an extra "disc" that has the a'capella and instrumental versions on it, plus other songs (like Jinu's Lament) on it.

Well no luck. 1st order was canceled as the CD was out of stock at the first store. They gave me another location and that was also out of stock.

Just ordered it online.

Yeah, you can get it directly from Republic Records as well.

​​​​It's only in MP3, however. Surprised FLAC is not an option. Personally, I would happily double dip for a 3-disc CD release of the Deluxe Edition.
