Damn. 54 is way too young. I liked him in the few things I saw him in. Especially his blink-and-miss-it role in The Dark Knight.

The top-3 that I can remember him from were:

Dazed and Confused
Strange Days
Sin City

His IMDb filmography stops at 2018. Was he unwell or did he just quit the business?

R.I.P. Loved him in Boiler Room. Think I might fire that one up tonight as a tribute.

Holy shit. So many things I watch on a regular basis. ‘Burbs, Gremlins, Sin City, Death Proof, Planet Terror, Insomnia & Dazed and Confused.
Way too young.

Wasn't that the point? I recall one or two like him in high school.

Re: RIP Nicky Katt dead at 54 (Dazed and Confused)

Outside of Boston Public, he never made big impression on me, in BP he was great though. Everytime he popped up in a movie, I said to myself, hey that's Nicky Katt, he was great in Boston Public, but I never thought he made any movie better and I've watched more than 20. It's not like he was bad in anyway, but most parts didn't gave him a whole lot to do. Insomnia, Boiler Room or The Brave One were the closest to standing out.

He was so good in Boiler Room. He made a career of being unlikeable, it's a shame he wasn't in more.

Apparently he hung himself in his apartment. The landlord found him. No note.

Never a flashy stand-out star but a solid, dependable character-actor presence.

RIP
