Just curious, but what makes Momoa a good villain in Fast X?

A big reason is he's having fun. All of the Fast series villains are super serious (except maybe Statham and he got less serious when he joined the team...same with Cypher). The movies are ridiculous and he matched that energy.

He recognizes that he's more or less in a cartoon for adults and plays a cartoon character (specifically, he's just kind of playing the Joker). Diesel and co are so self-serious about everything, despite how stupid and absurd it all is, that Momoa is a breath of fresh air. He never comes across as someone who's ego is so huge that he has a contract dictating how many punches he takes in a fight.

LOL I need to see that movie again

I know the family of Jim Morrison did not like the movie since all he did was get high and act like a jerk.

I saw The Doors movie when it first came out in the theaters and remember quite vividly the collective audible groan from the audience when it was revealed that Andy Warhol was being played by Crispin Glover. It took a lot of people out of the movie at that moment, including me. Not exactly the best casting decision ever made, IMO ...

Momoa sucked in FastX. I’ve been very forgiving of that series and that whole movie sucked ,the part where he paints the dead cops toenails is so fucking stupid. And that saying something for this series. I almost got up and left.

Re: Worst villain in a movie?

Pretty much every single Marvel villain except:
  • Loki
  • Red Skull
  • Ronan the Accuser
  • Alexander Pierce
  • Ultron
  • Baron Zemo
  • Thanos
  • Ego
  • Vulture
  • Hela
  • Killmonger
...aaaaaaand that's about it. Seems like a lot of "good" villains and it would be, if there hadn't been 33 MCU flicks in total. The rest have been utterly forgettable to terrible.

Re: Worst villain in a movie?

In the 1959 western, WARLOCK, Henry Fonda and Anthony Quinn play thinly-disguised versions of Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday and Richard Widmark plays a member of the opposing band who switches sides and joins the two gunfighters. That's three badasses right there--Fonda, Quinn and Widmark! And who plays the main villain? Tom Drake, best known as Judy Garland's dorky boyfriend in MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS. What were they thinking? Either Fonda, Quinn or Widmark alone could have sneezed and blown Tom Drake away without lifting a finger. And Frank Gorshin is one of Drake's gang! Was he gonna do his Fonda or Quinn impressions and make them fall down laughing?
