Yeah green lighting part XI wasn’t a surprise. X didn’t set the box office on fire, but it was profitable and also the best reviewed of the entire series. I’ll be curious if they try to squeeze in another plot in the series timeline or actually move forward.
I know this forum has mixed feelings to utter dislike for the Saw franchise. But, if you haven't seen it, X was a really good Saw movie let alone horror movie.

The long-running Saw franchise is headed back to the big screen this Halloween season, with the box office success of last year’s Saw X paving the way for this year’s Saw XI.
Bloody Disgusting can exclusively report this week that Saw X director Kevin Greutert will return to direct the upcoming Saw XI! In addition to Saw X, Greutert directed both Saw VI in 2009 and later Saw: The Final Chapter in 2010, along with the horror movies Jessabelle in 2014 and Jackals more recently in 2017. He also edited Saw I through V and Jigsaw.
This has to be considered very good news for Saw fans, as most felt that Saw X was a much-needed course direction for the franchise, finally bringing it back to the highs of the past. Greutert’s return to the twisted and bloody saga brought both Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) and Amanda (Shawnee Smith) back for a sequel cleverly set between the original film and its first sequel.
As we learned late last year, Saw X writers Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger will not be back to write the screenplay for Saw XI. Stay tuned for more info on the Saw XI creative team.
The games return to theaters on September 27, 2024.

At the rate that they keep making these they are going to have to start killing audience members.

Lionsgate has also moved Saw XI to Sept. 26, 2025, from its previously planned release on Sept. 27, 2024. The franchise is giving a bit of space to the new film after the success of its critically praised Saw X, which hit theaters in September and surpassed $110 million globally.

Bummer that it got postponed a full year. But, I suppose they want to be sure they get the script right, especially coming off how Saw X was so well reviewed by critics and fans. They don't want to fuck it up and regress to the bad movies of the series.

Reportedly cancelled according to someone close to the production. Apparently it was major disagreements among the producers.
Ya know, I’ve been a fan of this series since the beginning. If Saw X was it, I’m good. It was a good way to end it.
Update: THR has more context and says the project is stalled after the writer's turned in a draft almost a year ago. But, they don't say "Cancelled"

Re: Saw XI (2025, D: Greutert)
Saw hasn't ended. It will comeback eventually. Saw VII was "The Final Chapter", followed by Jigsaw and the soft reboot Spiral, only to return to the basics in part X. I'm pretty sure in a few years someone wants to make money with it again.

Looks like Saw X is probably going to be the final film in the series. XI was pulled from its release date and replaced.

The rights to the Saw series was bought by Blumhouse. Lionsgate will still distribute any future movies.
James Wan and Leigh Whannell have creative control again. If you don’t know already, Wan’s production company merged with Blumhouse.
