Really loved this movie. Interesting how there is a huge cash grab with the merch considering the message of the film.

Watched it last night and liked it.

I liked all the performances, but I thought Gosling was fantastic and Ken stole every scene he was in. “I’m Just Ken” is a song that is going to be stuck in my head.

Just bought it and am looking forward to watching it a second time with family that’s visiting for christmas. Only issue I had with it was Will Ferrel. Can’t remember a more disposable plot/character in an otherwise good to great film.

Wife had us watch this last night. She already saw it in the theater.

It was okay at best. I found the intro spoof the funniest part. The rest I just got some chuckles.

I think the production quality was good, and the dance elements were done well, but it all just came off as superficial. I did like Robbie and think it helped a lot of the Barbie’s and Ken’s were recurring and not just background characters.

Now That I think about it, everything had a Free Guy vibe. Maybe something to do with real world vs fake that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

I will say I think this film had something to do with catching the zietgiest as it’s really not great and don’t think it will hold up. However, Mateo’s going to push all these toy films thinking it’s something about the IP and expect $$$$.

Finally saw this last night. I was enjoying this with all the gags, and Ken drama...but by the time we got to the Ken dance bits, which BTW went on way too long, I wanted Barbie to resolve the issue and jump to the end.

Margot Robbie looked hot as fuck in this though... :up:

I thought this was a really well done balancing act, especially the Barbie/Barbie world being a shit place for Ken aspect. Entertaining movie, I do agree it runs a little long at the end

I assume it is the same on HBO as it is on Crave here in Canada, where there's a second version of Barbie that has an on-screen ASL interpreter. I watched a bit with my Aunt who is deaf and thought it was interesting the way the interpreter also did hand movements to "translate" the 2001 theme music and other sound effects.
