Re: Fast X: Part 2 (2025, D: Leterrier)

So, if this is back to being the finale, all the talk about this entry being scaled back are out the window? Cos after the goofy highs (and lows) this franchise has reached, resolving Fast X's cliffhanger with an entry on par with The Fast and Furious would feel rather deflating.

Wasn't sure where to put this but this is the most recent F&F thread.

The moment Tyrese saw Paul Walker’s original Nissan Skyline from 2 Fast 2 Furious

Nothing official, but Tyrese said to CBR that they are not expected to begin production until early 2025. He says the delay was due to the strikes. If that’s true, expect a delay. Maybe to 2026?

Louis Leterrier said in this interview the movie isn't coming out until 2026. He doesn't even start working on it until September.

An update about this movie from Vin himself. Vin is looking a little pudgy.

Guess Vin's pregnancy is to blame for the latest delay.

re: Fast Forever (2028, D: Leterrier)

Everyone had already guessed Brian would have to appear in the finale. The question is how much of a cameo will it be? I mean, sure, they could probably do what OTOY recently did with Shatner and Nimoy, but that was sans dialogue despite the active participation of Shatner. Or will they go super ambitious by bringing back Caleb and Cody Walker, and John Brotherton along with Wētā FX and some vocal post processing to create a CGI Paul Walker with a substantial role in the finale?

Let’s just hope it’s a brief cameo at the end. I don’t need a CGI Brian running around in action scenes but I’d be ok with a brief shot of him arriving at the BBQ at the end.

People talking about how to bring Brian to life when really there’s another much easier way to reunite the characters ….

re: Fast Forever (2028, D: Leterrier)

I mean, given how Part 1 ended, and how Pregnancy Vin says they are going back to the car race culture of the first flick, is Part 2 perhaps a death fantasy Dom and the rest are having? Heck, that would explain Gisele's unlikely resurrection. Of course, you still have the teleporting Secret Agent Han nonsense before that...

You know what? A while back in another forum, someone suggested the following:

To which I replied, "make it that Brian actually wrote the movies after Dom died from being hit by that train in the first movie, for the full Roseanne ending. "

Let's just have it be that.

Cannot believe I'm about to defend Vin Diesel (a B-lister whose contract says he cannot lose a fight and can only take X amount of blows), but he's pretty good at cutting for these movies. There've been photos in the past where he looks like an offseason MLB player and he's pretty much always gotten together for filming. Given the amount of gear the guy's possibly used, I'm not really surprised he might have weird hormonal fluctuations in between films/cycles.

And I also want to give the dude some credit: he's never perpetuated that absolutely insane look like The Rock and the Marvel guys have. He's never been both really big AND really lean and his physique has always been natty-attainable (even if he personally might need some juice to do some quick body recomp).

^ Yep. This isn’t the first time he’s plumped up in between movies. He’s done it for at least the last two F&F movies.

This meme is 4 years old but still relevant I guess.

According to reports, Fast 11 (Fast X 2 is a dumb title) is in limbo. They give some bullet points to the pay walled article. Basically it sounds like Universal does not want to spend the kind of money they blew on Fast X. They want huge budget cuts.

Shows how much I’ve been paying attention to this. I assumed this thing was already filmed and they were just completing some post-production work on it for release.

After 10 movies in this franchise it should kind of suck if they didn’t complete it considering the last one ends on cliffhanger.

Given that thanks to the success of the MCU, movies are now theatrical TV shows, a few were bound to get cancelled unfinished like some of their TV brethren. I don't think it's even the first. Didn't the Divergent movies get cancelled on a cliffhanger as well?

Nice. I want them all burnt out and have the climax with them stealing a box truck full of refurbished iPhones.

I'm pretty sure that the movie will happen. Bringing down the budget to 200M, still guarentees a giant budget. It's not that they have to do it on the cheap.
