FYI - this movie was pretty awesome. 90 minutes of stylish, bloody mayhem. Perhaps the best way to describe it: it's Mad Max, Inglourious Basterds, a Spaghetti Western (I went with Corbucci's Django), along with Rambo/Commando/Missing In Action...with a dash of Dr. Strangelove all in a blender.

I plan to see this Friday afternoon in Dolby. I only heard of this movie fairly recently. I'm sure there are many who have no idea what this movie is or is about. It's obviously a small film with a small marketing budget.

I'm interested in seeing this, but oddly, the only theatre in the area playing it is the drive-in on a double-bill with John Wicks 4. Too bad I don't have a car.

I just saw it. It was pretty entertaining. And It's a pretty simple movie. Former Finnish soldier finds gold, runs into a group of Nazis and all hell breaks loose. Lots of stylish and gruesome kills. There's not much depth to it, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Tommila was pretty badass and his performance is really carried by his facial expressions and physicality.

Nice and tidy 90 minutes.

I saw this as the Regal Mystery Monday movie a few weeks ago. I enjoyed it, my wife not as much...
I probably wouldn't have seen this in the theaters if it wasn't for that.

But, I think seeing his back story as a movie might be better than this.

Funny thing to mention. My Sisu ticket for AMC was cancelled by the theater on Friday last minute. Apparently the theater cancelled the showing I booked with A-List and it disappeared from the app. I noticed it once I parked and was loading up the app. The next showing wasn't for almost 2+ hours and I didn't want to wait. I found another theater that I rarely go to near my house showing it within 30 minutes, so I drove there ASAP to try to catch it and I did. But, I had to pay for it out of pocket as it was not AMC.

Back to the movie, while I found it entertaining, if you're tight on money and time and on the fence, I don't think it's mandatory that you see this in a theater. Unless you have A-List or Regal Unlimited.

Highly recommended, but decidedly not for the squeamish.

Lapland, 1944. An old man just wants to be left alone but is attacked by a Nazi patrol. He responds appropriately.

100% testosterone, 0% woke. Just like the Clint Eastwood Spaghetti Westerns of old. In simple terms, this is the Finnish John Wick.

"No moral ambiguity, no .. hopeless battle against ancient and overwhelming forces. They were the bad guys, as you say, and we were the good guys."

What a badass fucking movie. So simple in execution and highly entertaining. Good, gory, smartly portrayed and easy to follow. Terrific.

Eh, I liked it, but it could have been so much more badass if is was just a bit more gonzo. It had in bursts but never really complete "went there" and therefore always still kinda felt restrained in a way. 7 out of 10.

Loved every minute. Great kills, little dialogue and beautiful sparse scenery.

Movies are subjective and everyone has their right to their own opinion.

But that said, from now on I'm going to seriously question the tastes and recommendations from anyone in this thread who liked this movie. This was the worst piece of trash I've seen in years. My eyes rolled back so far into my head I could see my own retinas. I know an action film has to stretch believability from time to time to keep the action going, but this was ridiculous. It makes the French film Revenge look like a documentary, in terms of realism as to what the human body can withstand. Even movie critic Speed (of "Sneakin' into the Movies" fame) would join his fellow critic Tyrone in giving this movie the finger due to it's utter unbelievability.

I worked for a Finnish company for 6 years and made a lot of friends there. I'm going to have to refrain from physically striking them over this. The entire country owes us an apology.

Paff - I was beginning to think I was the only one who thought this. Was expecting a WWII John Wick and instead got absurdity to the highest level.

This movie was absolutely ridiculous but damned if I didn’t enjoy it.

It’s so over the top, it’s not even slightly believable but I thought it was well directed and I went in expecting to see a bunch of filthy Nazis die horribly and that’s what I got.

I don't know, I watched John Wick deflect thousands of bullets coming at at him from all angles by holding his little jacket up over his face in his last movie. I'm pretty sure he dropped off like a 4 story building into a car too, and was fine after about 3 seconds of limping. I didn't find Sisu any more absurd.

John Wick is just as absurd, yes. The John Wick movies also, aren’t that great.
