Also… I’m betting Gunn casts Rooker as Perry White.

The only Lois option I like is Rachel Brosnahan. Samara Weaving would be a great Mercy Graves, or Cat Grant.

I'd rather he play Bibbo.

He said he was retiring from Rocket because his knees and ankles can't take it anymore, so I doubt he will do any mocap stuff anymore.

Corenswet is the only one who looks the part, but he just seems like a budget version of Henry Cavill. Not familiar with Elordi, but I'm getting frat boy bully energy from his photos.

I don't love any of the Lois Lane candidates. Samara Weaving is great, but doesn't seem like a good fit for the role

Huh. Corenswet is my brother's nephew. If he gets cast I'll see if I can score a walk-on part for myself.

He kinda looks like Cavill. Maybe there's hope that Cavill can be an older Kingdom Come version.

I would love a beautifully shot Kingdom Come adaptation.

I’m just trying to parse that brother’s nephew part.

I gave up. I think he would be a cousin once-removed (or something) through marriage? Maybe? I've never met him, (maybe when he was very young, briefly) his parents live on the east coast. His mom is my brother's wife's sister. Now that I've thoroughly doxxed everyone ...

Just admit that you’re Corenswet’s dad!

Corenswet gave a solid performance in "We Own the City", I wouldn't mind him being Superman. Jacob Elordi shows his talent in Euphoria, he's really talented, but he has that bully vibe, I don't know if that's a good fit.

Corenswet looks more like Tom Welling than Cavill to me...but regardless, he DOES look like Superman.

If it were not for Gunn writing and directing I would expect the current dipshits at WB to cast a 5 foot 2 inch 135 pound actor as Clark/Supes.

Word from Corenswet's mom (as translated by my brother) is that such talk is 'in the studio hype lane'. That means to me that he's downplaying it because he doesn't want to jinx it, or doesn't want to get his hopes up.

This has been your Hollywood Minute.

Rumors that I am Corenswet's dad are strictly in the 'studio hype lane'.

There are also unsubstantiated rumors that I wrote and directed a xxx movie called King Dong.

re: Superman (2025, D: Gunn)

EXCLUSIVE: Following months of going through dozens of audition tapes, Warner Bros and DC Films look to be getting closer to finding the stars of their Superman: Legacy movie as a second round of testing looks to be imminent.

Insiders close to the process say the first in-person tests with DC co-heads Peter Safran and James Gunn (who is writing and directing the pic) will take place around Father’s Day weekend or the Monday or Tuesday after with Nicholas Hoult, David Corenswet and Tom Brittney expected to test for Clark Kent aka Superman, and Emma Mackey, Rachel Brosnahan and Phoebe Dynevor testing for Lois Lane. Sources added that some of the test deals are still being negotiated and haven’t all closed, but that as of now these are the names expected to participate in the auditions.

DC Studios had no comment on the second rounds of tests.

Deadline had reported last month these were among the names that had submitted audition tapes and that execs had only just begun watching each tape — especially Gunn, who only recently wrapped his press tour for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Gunn had let it be known he wanted to be thorough and watch each tape, and over that time those names rose to the top as the short list was created.

As for other roles such as the Lex Luthor and Jimmy Olsen, those decisions will likely happen after decisions are made on Superman and Lois.

More to come.

That's a lot of words to say "Update: Still Casting."

Really hoping for Corenswet, he looks like a meld of Cavill and Tom Welling.
Can't see Hoult as Supes at all.

re: Superman (2025, D: Gunn)

I hope they don't get hung up on making sure he looks like Reeve or Routh or Cavil. He just needs to look like Superman.

Getting hung up on making a recast look exactly like a previous actor is what caused so much drama for Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo. He doesn't look exactly like Ford but I think he captured a lot of the essence of Han Solo and that's a better casting IMHO.
