On Fandango?

You get access to the theatrical tickets for those days, if you're a Prime member.

Even my son was like "why do the teeth bounce off of the camera lens" but still thought it was cool so there's that.

That was funny but that guy's jaw should have been obliterated right?

Yeah I wasn't sure if he was just a normal guy or enhanced somehow.

New trailer was good. I will say that i like the more colorful look, but so far, I do see myself liking this probably the same as Man of Steel...........but I just can't tell.

The humor will probably kill the vibe for me at time as well. I like humor in these movies, just not the constant James Gunn style shit.

Every person Superman flies in and saves in the last minute would also explode on impact like the opening scene to The Boys. It's a movie.

New trailer looks good. Have no clue how this will play out but the opening credit sequence and OG score are enough for me to justify the price of admission.

This will be the first new superhero movie I’ve seen since The Batman. Man of Steel and Superman 2 were both enjoyable. The only James Gunn movie I really like is Slither. So I have very tempered expectations.

Also the villain with the mushroom cut looks like the recurring character Stuart from Mad TV. Look what I can do!!!!

Thats not a villain. Thats the Green Lantern. Or the Guy Gardner version.

This is a Superman movie, therefore the villain must always be Lex Luthor. He's in all the trailers.

That small part was giving me baby saving PTSD but apparently there are video drones that are capturing the action so it actually bounces off of their lenses?? Maybe?

I still have high hopes but this movies looks....busy. But James Gunn has proven he can do a busy superhero movie so.....I guess we'll see.

Maybe you were the comment on the facebook reel I saw that explained it and walked me off a ledge with the scene. It's a small www afterall?

The teeth bit is no different than CGI blood spatter on a camera lens in other movies. It just stands out here because it looks cheesy as hell, and it being in slo-mo makes it worse.

That's a real actor getting his teeth knocked out though? In stills I wasn't sure, it looked CG generated but no idea why they would do that for this scene in particular. Initially to me I thought it was from a new videogame cutscene or something.

Exactly. I don't recall any great movies with CGI blood splatter hitting the camera lens either.

Currently tracking anywhere from $90-$145M opening.

I think that's reasonable. People have been so soured on previous DCEU movies (deserved or otherwise) I'd imagine this movie will have a good but not great opening. Word of mouth will be the real determination agent for its long-term success.

The review embargo ends on the 7th. There was a private screening last night for select critics and online pundits.

However, there are also a lot of fake reviews on social media, who claim they saw it and would be violating NDA rules. It appears to be mostly trolls and Snyder fanboys. They are just recycling images from the pre screening that some have dropped on social media. They are just posting fake commentary for rage engagement.

All the clips of this film have Superman acting like a little whiney bitch.....it's definitely getting old as well. I didn't even really notice at first, but now it's getting a bit annoying.

I mean, you know what I'm talking about. Don't worry though, I'm not tashing the movie as a whole but this is easily the bitchiest Superman ever so far.

Superman is probably just tired of Earthlings’ bullshit.

I'm just excited to see some chemistry between Clark & Lois, something I haven't seen on the big screen since Margot Kidder.

You know what, you are correct in that there has not been an equivalent of the I've got you, who's got you scene between Lois and Clark in any of the non Reeve's Superman films, or if there was it was not all that memorable.

I am cautiously optimistic that this film will be the one that gets the general public excited about Superman again.

I will hopefully see this film no later than a week after it hits theaters.

Not in the big screen, but the Superman and Lois TV show had plenty.

I haven’t watched the sequels lately but I did watch the original Superman a month or so ago and I was surprised at how little chemistry Kidder and Reeve had. Her Lois Lane is barely likable. She spends all her time superficially pining over Superman and treating Clark like dirt. I’m not sure why Clark had such a thing for her.

I realize I’m in the minority since I feel like the original Superman no longer holds up.

You don't think Reeve and Kidder had chemistry when he was Superman?

Clark not having chemistry with Lois (particularly before he knows his identity) was the trope at the time.

Re: Superman (2025, D: Gunn)

I’m a big fan of Welling and Durance as well as Hoechlin and Tulloch. I do agree that Reeve and Kidder didn’t really work chemistry wise as Clark and Lois. It was awkward. I saw the original movie again about 2 months ago and while it does hold a special place for me, it’s very dated now.

The pairing that didn’t work for me at all was Routh and Bosworth.

Lois and Superman had more chemistry than Lois and Clark but I still wasn’t sold on it. The only thing that makes it somewhat work is Reeve’s boyish charm as Superman.
