My favorite movie this year is Top Gun: Maverick. It won’t win BP but damn it’s a fun movie!

Looking back over the previous years, with the exception of 2018, we’ve all got some pretty good taste!

Everything Everywhere All At Once was my favorite film I saw last year and one of my favorites of recent years. That got my vote.

I haven't seen Avatar, Elvis or Women Talking yet, but I have a really hard time believing any of them will dethrone Tar as my #1.

Again, haven't seen it, but I think you greatly overestimate Avatar's popularity.

Expectation: Tar or The Banshees Of Inisherin

Maverick and Avatar were decent. I don't think All Quiet on the Western Front has the momentum going in.

I know this isn’t a “predict the winner” thread but All Quiet on the Western Front is also nominated for Best International Film so I’m guessing it’ll win in that category. Then Oscar voters can feel better about voting for something else as BP.

Triangle Of Sadness... TÁR very closely behind... The Banshees of Inisherin close to that.

Most of the nominees are great this year. 8 of my favorite/honorable mentions were nominated for Best Picture.

Looks like they're bringing back each film, 1/27-3\12, some as a $5 Fan Favs. They used to group the movies. Maybe they changed that due to the length of the movies. Some are pretty damn long.

I have seen shockingly few movies this year. Of the 2 I have seen I liked Avatar quite a bit more than Top Gun

I've seen 5 of the 10, but plan to see the others, so I'll wait until then to vote.

All I'll say is that one of these absolutely doesn't belong on this list... and it's not Avatar.

I'll wait to vote, as I have not seen many movies on this list.
Even though I'm tired of comic book movies. So far The Batman is my favorite movie from 2022
I'm also on the side that Elvis is overrated and at least for me was a chore to watch.

Added I liked the 3rd act of Elvis by far the most. Austin Butler was tits(that's a good thing) and never had any idea who Colonel Tom Parker was before this movie and what a scumbag he was, surprised he lived to be almost 90 in real life the way he lived.
I also like learning that Elvis helps support his family and friends without blinking an eye if the movie is correct. Maybe could have been edited down and had directors cut available for disc?

Elvis - it's the movie Elvis fans always wanted, but never in a million years thought we would get. They show all aspects of his life, the good, the bad and the ugly. It's brought in a new generation of Fans.

The Oscars has more refined and mature tastes than DVDTalk's imo. :p I only like OUATIH over the did nothing for me Parasite from DVDTalk... but of course my heart will always be with Team DVDTalk.
