Creepy imagery and music is intact so I'm sure I'll be watching.

Definitely looking forward to this, especially with Christophe Gans behind the lens again.

Nice. I hope it makes a billion dollars. I'm a big cheerleader for the first movie. And apologist for the second.

So far, so good. I really enjoyed the first movie. Although I didn't love the second movie and can't call it good, it does have elements I like. But I am glad that Gans is back in the director's chair for this outing.

Looks kind of terrible for treading too close to the game and its dialogue style, but also that's exactly what it should be?
Whatever, I'll be watching it.

Yeah, I was expecting Gans to make another loose adaptation. I'll still go see it, but my expectations are diminished.

Looks to be about what I expected. The biggest jump scare I ever had playing a video game was during Silent Hill 2. It actually made me drop my controller.
If nothing else, Gans will make it atmospheric as hell, which honestly, is all it would take to get me to watch this.

I have a ticket reserved to see this tomorrow at 745pm
But, I honestly don't remember the 1st movie from 20 years ago at all
And this sequel has some pretty terrible scores right now

My wife and I watched the first one this past Halloween season. It’s a solid movie if you ask me. I’ve heard some pretty poor reviews for the new one though which is unfortunate since it’s the director of that first movie.

I sort of remember the feeling around the first release. It was as though they didn't realize they had such a good movie. So there wasn't much hype. I am hoping the same for this one.

Legitimately one of the worst films I’ve ever seen. More a collection of visuals and sequences than a coherent narrative. There’s a rushed 10 min explanation at the end to try and make up for it. Truly dreadful. And I hold the original in very high regard. Sean Bean was very much missed this time around.

This one is from a reviewer that, like me, loves the first movie (flaws and all). So it's sad to see he really dislikes this one.

Am I the only one who remembers the first film as some horrifying moments and visuals couched in a trainwreck of a garbage script?
Saw 28 Years Later today and they were handing out postcards "from Silent Hill." I asked the ticket taker what people had said so far, and she said, "scary pictures, no story."

It's sad to see Gans churn out such a piece of garbage. Most of his French language movies are pretty solid.

Worst movie I've seen this year so far. I only went to see it because I heard there was a really bad fake beard in it so for that aspect I was not disappointed. I've never played the games or watched the other movies so to me it was just a confusing time of a guy walking around with a flashlight and things happening. It wasn't boring enough to fall asleep during so it has that going for it.

Seems it needed someone like Roger Avery (is he still in jail?) to translate it to the screen.

I love that theory. Their child went off with the two old men so Bill could live. That last line is because they needed another child. After I understood this, I wouldn't watch it any other way.
Kubrick didn't make a movie of meandering irreverence.
We'll never know if the real-life conspiracy theories are real.

Not a terrible film as you all indicate.
This didn’t have the emotional punch that came with the Alessa story. And it was kind of jarring I didn’t understand if the movie mostly ignores the lore of the first?
At many times, it had that unfortunate low budget feel of a film shot in Eastern Europe. Sort of how Hellboy went from the epic GDT movie to The Tall Man.
It also felt more laid back. Which dulled the moments that were supposed to be terrifying.
In short, almost 20 years later and they rushed it too much.
