Thanks for the heads up!

I missed this in theaters, so I'm looking forward to checking this out during my Holiday Break.

This has gotten wildly varying reviews, but I enjoyed it enough. I'm a sucker for Tom Ripley-esque protagonists and scenes of people living in unthinkable luxury. It's pulpy dark fun, though, rather than any sort of insightful satire with anything deep to say, though. I did think Keoghan, Elordi and Pike were all excellent, though, although I could've done with a LITTLE less of Barry's Barry if you know what I mean. Still, I don't feel it's the abomination some online are claiming it is, but I liked its nasty little bite.

Agree. I felt a Ripley vibe immediately from the trailer so I was anxious to see it. It's a great film with excellent performances all around. But definitely not for everyone. Uncomfortable at times, dark, wicked, funny, and even disgusting. I can definitely see some people turning it off after one or two scenes.

You know, I'm mildly surprised to see how quickly this took over the number 2 spot from Sound of Freedom on Amazon Prime (which they seemed to advertise ad nauseum on their Fire TV platform). I guess it's a very big hit among the TikTok crowd.

(Reacher series remains #1)

^ The same crowd has also caused "Murder on the Dancefloor" to re-enter music charts after 22 years. Sophie Ellis-Bextor was not well known in America. I'd never heard of her or the song before watching this movie, but it is a catchy dance tune. New Radicals (former) frontman Gregg Alexander co-wrote it.

I enjoyed this until the ending.
Spoiler:
I'm sick of twists with a genius mastermind who orchestrated the worlds most elaborate plan and executed it perfectly

I normally love me a twist ending but this landed with a thud. It rendered almost all that came before it pointless. Just felt cheap and off-putting.

Same here. I’d rank it as a B solely for the twist. It wasn’t hard to put some of it together and it would have been an A in my book had they left it slightly ambiguous.

Saw this also. Good watch on Prime and may have been slightly disappointed if I paid to see it in the theater.

The twist definitely cheapened the story as a whole.

I’d actually love to see it with an unsuspecting audience.

The audience I saw it with seemed very bored. No indication anyone was scandalized.

Plenty of funny reactions on TikTok. Especially the shower scene.

This flick felt like it was made by a film school dropout. I can't believe they went with that ending as well - only a moron would need that spelled out for them.

Just a sloppy, stupid, movie.

I watched this with no idea what it was about... and really enjoyed it until the end. Spelling it out wasn't necessary and I found it completely unlikely that nobody would intervene with Oliver as the obvious mastermind. Overall a B+ though for the visuals and the chances it took.

Finally got around to watching this film and felt the same way. Emerald Fennell absolutely had my eyes glued to the screen until the final act.

With that said, the cast is fantastic as is Linus Sandgren's cinematography.

This was okay. Young rich people living a life of seductive debauchery isn't exactly my cup of tea. Also, in the movies.

It was ok but I thought with all the stuff I heard about a lot of risque material in the movie there would be one scene at least with female nudity but then it was all mostly dude nudity

I am a fan of Barry Keoghan and the movies he does but that was too much for me.

Is the aspect ratio for this 4:3?

Another reason to dislike the movie.

It felt like watching a SD show on a HD channel in the late aughts.

At least make it widescreen or 16:9 though that is rare.

Movies shot in 4:3 are not my cup of tea.

I remember when I was younger, and I'd see a movie on HBO that had an actress you liked, and an "N" under the parental advisory, get my hopes up, spend two hours watching the movie, and the only nudity was either an extra in a strip club, or some dude.

Like Some Girls with Jennifer Connelly, where the only real nudity was Patrick Dempsey's button penis in a near sex scene with Jennifer (who kept her bra and panties on), or a movie I can't remember with Laura San Giacomo where the only promised nudity was some guy's dong in a post-sex scene with her.
