Online Movie Games: Framed, Moviedle, Posterdle, etc.
Similar to the Wordle thread I thought I’d post this here in case some of us don’t venture into the Other forum or into the Wordle thread. It’s a daily screenshot game. So far the movies chosen seem to be pretty varied.

Yeah I've been doing this one off and on for a few weeks.
It's been fairly easy for the most part; even got some right for films I've never seen.

Ugh, I got today's in 1 but I didn't notice I hit the wrong movie title and now it's in 2. Frustrating.

So what is the etiquette for this one?
Like if you recognize an actor in a pic, are you allowed to look up his filmography? Because that's the only way I was able to answer this one.

I guess.

Typically by the 5th or 6th picture, the game is practically begging you to answer correctly. It’s usually the first 3 or 4 pics that are the hardest /most vague.

I'm of the opinion that with any kind of puzzle, "looking up" an answer is essentially cheating. I'm an avid NY Times Crossword Puzzle user, and there's many times I've been stuck for a long time on a clue that is easily Googleable, but I just will not do it.

I make an exception for when I know the movie, but cannot for the life of me remember the name. I play the Box Office Game more than Framed and it's happened where I am absolutely certain of the film, could tell you the entire plot, who's in it, et cetera, but just can't remember the actual title. Otherwise I agree with you.

Usually I only run into this problem with sort of generic titles.

I always felt the movie (that was the answer) took place on one of the coasts. So that first clue was no help to me.
