Saw that this was expected around $55-60mil for the weekend. That seems kinda low with the holiday coming up and winter breaks kicking in. I'd think around $70-75m

the previews and strong critical and audience reviews suggest it'll open higher than Sonic 2 which did $72m. The predictions were updated to $60m with a strong next two weeks.

My son, a huge Sonic game fan, loved it. Said it was easily the best of the series with Carrey really standing out.
Going to try and catch it but neither my dad who is visiting for the holidays or daughter want to see it so won’t be for a few weeks at least.

Just got back. Pretty full audience. Anyway, it was funny and cute. Keanu Reeves were great as Shadow and Jim Carey was fun once again as Robotnik.
Shemar Moore makes a cameo but not as who you think.
There are 2 bonus scenes.

Paramount has really figured out the formula on these to churn them out every two years to bigger and bigger returns, and to set up each sequel perfectly at the end of the movie. My kid is already asking when Sonic 4 is coming out.
I only kind of remember the first two movies, but my feeling was that this one was a bit lesser. Most of it was fine, but then I felt the finale was a bit overstuffed. And, while I like the Chemical Brothers, I didn't think it fit for the laser dance very well, not to mention the fact that, despite the song, there was literally no button for them to push.

We saw this Friday night and it was really fun. Jim Carrey just continues to steal the show but the Sonic characters are still fun to watch. There's apparently tons of lore from the games and comics, so they could keep making these for a while.

Yeah, we enjoyed it as a family. Watched it on NYD. It’s nothing too special, but a fun, light diversion. Jim Carrey is very good in it.

Saw it last night with my wife. We liked it. The Sonic movies have been fun so far. I haven’t played many of the later Sonic games and never one with Shadow but I at least recognize the character. Jim Carrey is clearly having a blast in these movies which is fun.

How did we miss "Sonic: Hedge Hogger" as a potential sequel title?

We're a pretty big Disney family, movies, Disney+, Annual Passes the whole works. We all chose Sonic 3 over Mufasa and pretty glad we did. None of use, even the kids were fans of the Lion King remake. Mufasa looked like more of the same. My 12 yo was laughing throughout the whole movie. Especially the part when they walk in on Robotnik. That scene was just pure comedy gold. If this is indeed Jim Carrey's last movie it's a pretty good one to go out on.

I just watched this on 4K UHD BD and had a blast. By the third act it actually morphs into the best Superman movie in recent memory. And, as always, Jim Carrey is fantastic in this. He was also credited as Artistic Director. My only gripe is that Shadow's backstory needed just a little more fleshing out.
