Shouldn't you include James Earl Jones? Sure, it was only his voice - but he should count, especially since his voice was a very important aspect of the character.

sucks that his legacy was shit on by Lucas with that altered ending in RotJ, but great performance, what little we saw of him, and i'll always picture him as force ghost and not that other guy. RIP.

That wasn't David Prowse.

The force ghost at the end of Return of the Jedi was Anakin Skywalker played by Sebastian Shaw. Then he was later removed for Hayden Christensen.

Re: David Prowse aka Darth Vader dead at 85

There was a really interesting documentary about him on Netflix a few years back. One thing that sticks out is how he was on record talking about Darth Vader being Luke's father years before Empire (he famously didn't even know when making Empire, as that secret was kept from everyone), and speculating that Lucas took the idea from Prowse. Lucas isn't interviewed in the documentary, but Gary Kurtz is, and you see him get hilariously uncomfortable as soon as the topic is brought up (he claims it was all parallel thinking).

Re: David Prowse aka Darth Vader dead at 85

Though we never saw his face or heard his voice, he still made his presence known through his body language and presence and he was as much a part of Darth Vader as any other actor.

Lucasfilm did ban Prowse from from any official cons though, I believe.

Sad seeing another of the Original Trilogy actors passing. Though he was 85, so not exactly young. Still though, RIP.

Definitely sad looking at it from that perspective. Not original as in from A New Hope, but there are still some other key players left. James Earl Jones (obviously original from ANH) as well as Billy Dee Williams, Frank Oz, and Ian McDiarmid.

Correct. And that ban continued until the day he died. Sad, really.

Never knew that was him in Clockwork Orange. I got to listen to Prowse talk a couple of times at conventions, and always enjoyed his monologues as well as Q&A sessions.

Wrong one. It was the Kevin Bacon character in X-Men: First Class that Lucas hated.

I thought this was a really well done little musical tribute to Prowse. It really hits you in the feels.

Oh, that was really nice. There’s so much emotion you can do with Star Wars music.
