I would have loved a sequel to Clive Barker's Nightbreed.

Another I’ve always kind of wanted is a sequel to I Love You, Man. Not sure exactly what it would be, but the first is one of my favorite comedies and I’m a big fan of Rudd and Segel. Comedy sequels can be hit or miss though so maybe it’s best it hasn’t happened. I saw something at one point where Rudd wanted it to happen so maybe it will at some point.

I'm surprised no one has said Man of Steel 2.

I recently re-watched the 1st movie again (maybe about 6 months ago) and it's actually a pretty good movie. I was a little too harsh on it when it came out 6 years ago. Cavill's a solid Superman.

Yes, the last act went a little crazy with the destruction porn, but when I really thought about it, that's what should have been expected with Zod and Kal-El, who are two beings more powerful than anything on earth and Superman destruction trying to stop the human race from being extinguished.

A third Batman film starring Michael Keaton.

Had to come back for this one. He was just so good in the role.

I think even now you could get Keaton back as Bruce Wayne for a Batman Beyond movie. He’s the right age for it. Maybe use de-aging technology for some flashback type scenes of him as Batman. Would be cool.

Good one! I feel like I’m in an abusive relationship with Superman movies. No matter how often they tear me down I keep coming back for more, thinking they’ll finally change.

I liked MoS well enough when I first saw it and although it wasn’t perfect, it still had me wanting to come back for more.

For the longest time, my answer to this was The Incredibles. Be careful what you wish for.

I think this is a good point. I think we think we might WANT sequels for these movies. But a lot of times when they finally come they end up not living up to our lofty expectations. Especially if it's been so long after the fact.

My vote: Master & Commander: The Far Side of the World. It was supposed to be a franchise but fell short. I so love that movie.

Yours?

What happened to the sequels? I thought they were already greenlit. I love the movie but don't rewatch it because it feels incomplete. Like if they just made the Fellowship of the Ring.

Gandhi II - There's only one law...his law.

Actual answer. There are a lot of good choices in this thread, but one I would have liked to have seen was Fincher getting to make the last two films in the Millennium Trilogy. I know the Swedish films exist, but Fincher is a more skilled filmmaker, and I personally liked Mara more than Rapace in the titular role.

Sacrilege! ;) Seriously, I loved both. But Rapace was so much better IMO. I also loved Fincher's film. But it was too soon for a remake. Just two years after the original.
