Going to see this at a noon showing on Friday. Hopefully it will be devoid of a massive crowd that could get me caught up in the moment and make me think it's better than it actually is like what happened with TLJ. Granted, I didn't hate TLJ as much as others, but it's flaws became more glaringly obvious on a second viewing and then moreso when watched at home. I just want a quiet experience so I can form my own thoughts in an honest manner.

My showing is mostly full as well. There are plenty of seats up close to the screen available, but the one I got was one of the last that was in what I consider a comfortable viewing zone. The fullest I've ever seen an early showing was for an 11:30AM of Avengers endgame, where I was in the third row and the place was packed. There is no way this will do Endgame numbers, but hey, the Mouse wins in all scenarios.
I will also say that the theater is a good one with reclining seats and atmos sound (Cobb is the chain name). I think if I wanted to go to the Regal where I have my pass I could get into any showing at any time. I've been there on $100 million+ opening weekends and seen empty screens.

My dad and I are going Thursday at 7pm. I used a vacation day to go opening night so hopefully its decent. The latest bunch of tv spots have me a bit more excited than I was.

Yup. That’s why I’m going first chance I get. Just finished the game Fallen Order, which surprisingly has a lot of similarities to TLJ. Just finished TLJ again and loved it just as much as when I saw in theaters. I’m so ready now...

Say what you will about the movies, but you can’t deny they know how to make some fan-fucking-tastic trailers. I got goosebumps all over again just watching the one in the OP.

When can we expect actual confirmed spoilers to start filtering out?
I assume there will be some kind of world premiere/VIP screening before it hits theaters, which is where the advance TLJ spoilers came from.
I need some spoilers before I decide whether or not to bother seeing this.
Just checked the nearest AMC theater, and two tickets (not even IMAX) will cost forty fucking dollars with sales tax and "convenience fees." Jeez...

Social media reactions are tonight @10 (after the premier gets out) and I think critic screenings are Tues AM w Wed PM reviews coming out. Got my tix for Thurs night, first time going on an opening night...looking forward to it! I was nervous about this just being a by the numbers, generic finale...(and it still might) but I'm thinking there's still some surprises coming that have not been revealed yet.

Re: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Abrams, 2019) The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread
The movie theaters that have the reclining seats in my area are pretty much sold out on Thursday/Friday (they are smaller theaters). The big multiplexis with normal seats are wide open as they all have good seats still available as Im probably going Book my tickets til tomorrow with my friends. This was not the case for TFA and TLJ as it was a lot harder to get any tickets in my area that Thursday/Friday so thats why I stand by TROS opening weekend box office wont even equal TLJ.

Now I know I'll like this movie, cause he LOVED TLJ! In all honesty, I don't trust this guy as I think he is saying this because he was called a TLJ shill for 2 years so this was his way of shutting up those fans. He went from full TLJ defender in 2017 to saying it was on par with the Prequels a few weeks ago as a guest on another podcast. I take all of these snap reviews with a grain of salt.

All of those gushing tweets make me think...
"I loved it. It was much better than Cats. I'm going to see it again and again."
