Quentin Tarantino's Star Trek

Quentin Tarantino Hatches ‘Star Trek’ Movie Idea; Paramount, JJ Abrams To Assemble Writer’s Room

EXCLUSIVE: Already busy prepping to direct the film he just set up at Sony Pictures, Quentin Tarantino is also planning to boldly go where he has not gone before. Sources said that Tarantino has come up with a great idea for a Star Trek movie at Paramount. After sharing his idea with JJ Abrams (who himself is busy prepping Star Wars Episode IX), I’ve heard the plan is to assemble a writers room of scribes who’ll hear Tarantino’s take and begin to put together a movie. If it all works out, Tarantino might direct it, with Abrams producing.

Let him finish off the next generation crew. Incorporate them
Into the new time line

So if he indeed retires after his next two films this potentially could be his last. I’d be interested in seeing it but kind of surprised he’d consider a franchise film at this point.

I wonder what sci-fi films Tarantino will be ripping off when he writes this. Wrath Of Khan is already done.

I love my Tarantino and I love my Star Trek, but I'm not sure I love them together.

Interesting, but I can't see QT directing a movie that he didn't write himself.

Let it be a remake of Undiscovered Country and strand Kirk and McCoy on an ice planet and they can just chat the entire movie in a cabin. Maybe have Sam Jackson have a cameo as a slave trader.

I don’t think it would be a disaster. I think the main thing about it that’s odd is that it could be his last film if he sticks by what he said and retires after his next two. He has mentioned being a fan of Star Trek in the past though and once said he’d prefer directing a Star Trek film over a Star Wars film. I could see a Tarantino Trek film being somewhat similar to when he directed those episodes of CSI. Basically follow what’s been set up but add a few of his trademarks.

Give me some Quintin-licious dialogue and hard-core action, and my butt is there.

Did you see a sign on the front of my house that said "Dead Klingon Storage?"

Tarantino did a script polish of the movie Crimson Tide. The Star Trek-related dialogue in that movie is courtesy of QT, so yeah, he's a definite fan.

I'd still be interested in seeing George Kirk return, but I'm always down to see other creative forces take on Trek.

re: Star Trek 4 -- news, rumors, etc.

Been watching all the films in order the past few weeks, most for the first time. Actually really impressed by how well they hold up other than the first half of the first one. Anyway, the characterization throughout these is really strong and the action can be excellent at times so seems like a good fit for QT. Would be really exciting to see what he does with the universe.

Yeah I really wanted to see that too, maybe he was told of that idea and he expanded on it?
