Facebook Poll: What's the Best Horror Film of the 21st Century?

From the top 9 (according to Rotten Tomatoes) horror films from the year 2000 to the present, which is your favorite?

Or select "Other" and tell us your answer!

Of the ones listed, I'd go with It Follows. Interesting premise, stylish direction and tone, and originality in a genre known for being incredibly derivative.

The Cabin In The Woods is great but it's really more of a film deconstructing horror tropes - I was never scared watching it. Surprised none of the Conjuring movies made it on the list.

I would go with Session 9.

A Tale of Two Sisters (2003). It's not even close.

Of the ones listed, The Babadook. It actually scared me while watching it, which is very rare. I still get creeped out or startled plenty while watching horror films, but that Babadook guy did a number on me. A great psychological piece of filmmaking.

I wanted to go with It Follows. The first time I watched I thought it was the best horror movie I had ever seen. However, after watching it recently. The third act sort or goes downhill. Still a great movie but, not as good as I once thought.

My favorite is The Descent.

A lot of decent choices, but even not limiting to horror, Get Out is perhaps the greatest film of this century.

Pan's Labyrinth is the best film of all those listed, followed by Get Out.

However, it's really not a horror film is it? Or is it? It is? Or is? It or? Bernard?

I went with Babadook.
IMO, it's damn near perfect.

I like Sinister, Conjuring, Insidious, Dead Silence, etc.
Clearly I have a problem with choosing just one.

I voted for "Get Out," although I don't really consider it "horror" - then again, a number of movies on this list fit that category...more "thriller" than "horror."

If you get right down to it, Mulholland Dr. was more terrifying than anything listed in the poll.

I voted for Cabin In The Woods, though it was a toss up between that and Get Out. Both were great but I admit that neither really scared me, in fact, both had many laugh out loud moments.

As far as being actually scared, The Witch takes the cake for me.

I'm surprised Us didn't make the list. That also scared the hell out of me.

That's a great choice. Fun horror movie.

I picked The Witch, but my other favorite is The Devils Backbone. I've seen every movie on the list, which is weird because I don't watch that many movies.

Love The Devil's Backbone.

I'm not a big horror guy and I've only seen three in the poll (Quiet Place, It Follows and Cabin in the Woods) but I thought It Follows was brilliant. Not your typical horror flick.

Not sure which one I would pick (I will say Trick r Treat is a good choice), I do know which I wouldn't: The Witch. I found more on the funny side than anything remotely scary or unnerving.

For me, Cabin in the Woods was an excellent comedy; but I wouldn't call it a horror film tbh.

If I had to pick one of the poll options, without picking "other", I'd have to go with A Quiet Place. Looking forward to the sequel.

If I went with other, I'd say The Descent.

There's just something about being trapped in the dark an underground cave with seemingly no way out.
