Re: Mabuse Classic Movies Presents...The Inessentials
StepBrothers surprised me. Going in I expected something brainless, but by the end I was digging it. I loved the message of "yes you have to grow up, but don't forget what makes life fun".
Can I throw in The Black Hole? Disney's attempt at 70's sci-fi in the wake of Star Wars and Star Trek getting all the attention. Sure it has some dodgy writing and acting, but it's still a great cast and some fantastic model work and an amazing score. I try to watch at least once a year.

The robots in The Black Hole were my favorite robots in any movie besides R2D2.

The Brain that Wouldn't Die
A mad doctor's girlfriend is mangled in a car crash. He keeps her head alive at the lab, and heads out to strip clubs to find her a new body. While he's out, the head and a failed experiment chained in the closet have a surprisingly deep philosophical discussion.
