It doesn't need to exist. But I liked it for what it is.

You would still enjoy the movie, but have large pockets of frustration like:
I thought the flashbacks would eventually explain why those guys were holding Jesse captive. Why was all this happening?
Or:
Why did they interrupt the momentum of the ending to throw in a scene of Jesse having breakfast with a random bald man? I'm guessing by his bizarrely oversized alien head this was supposed to be a dream?

Vince tried to make this standalone, but it didn’t work. He thinks you’re not really going to enjoy it if you’ve never seen one minute of the series.

Yeah, truthfully this isn’t even so much a movie but more of two additional episodes of Breaking Bad.

Saw this earlier today.
Echoing what many people have already said here, unnecessary but enjoyable.
Aaron Paul was fantastic!

Wow...Skinny Pete was the only character to actually lose weight. Guess that makes sense.
I enjoyed this. Most of the issues people had with it didn't bother me. Thought the shoot-out was fun. Thought the vacuum guy was uncompromising. He didn't shoot Todd out of sheer fear...for Brock, himself, everything. He is a broken man at that point.
My only issues was Todd being way too tubby (and let's face it...everyone did look noticeably heavier, Aaron Paul included, with the exception of Pete) and the cliche of Jesse knocking his head against the fridge which helped him find the money.

I can’t fathom why anyone would want to see this without having seen Breaking Bad. There’s just too much in the background that needs context to understand. Whoever asked that needs to just watch the fucking series. It’s some of the best tv ever made, and absolutely worth a binge.
I’m glad Gilligan didn’t write this in a way that it could be followed by people in that situation. Us fans have seen 9 seasons set in this world, so imho it’s owed to is to not have to deal with a movie that coddles those that haven’t put in the work to follow this world for so many years.

Watched it once and need to watch it again -- liked it for what it is which as mentioned, is basically 2 episodes as an epilogue to the series. Was also reminded how this show makes the mundane so entertaining. Was basically 2 hours of Jesse trying to get out of ABQ and the hurdles he had to overcome - some obvious, others not so much.

The behind the scenes documentary was too short. Wish it was at least 30 minutes.

Agreed on it being a decent enough epilogue to the series, but not something that left me feeling like it was needed. I'll add it to the pile for an eventual rewatch when Better Call Saul ends its run.

This was a great last role for Robert Forster. He was fantastic.
As for the movie itself, I thought it was an above average movie, but not quite as good as the series. It was a nice coda.
