Infinite (2021, D: Fuqua) S: Wahlberg, O'Brien, Cookson
Dylan O’Brien has joined Mark Wahlberg in the upcoming action thriller “Infinite,” sources tell Variety.
“Kingsman” actress Sophie Cookson will also appear in the film with “Training Day” director Antoine Fuqua helming.
“Infinite” is based on D. Eric Maikranz’s novel “The Reincarnationist Papers,” which centers on the Cognomina, a secret society of people who possess total recall of their past lives. A troubled young man haunted by memories of two past lives stumbles upon the centuries-old society and decides to join their ranks. Ian Shorr is adapting the story for the screen.
Details of O’Brien’s role have not been revealed.
John Zaozirny will produce the Paramount film alongside Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian of Di Bonaventura Pictures. Rafi Crohn is the executive producer.
“Infinite” is set to bow Aug. 7, 2020, with production scheduled to begin this fall.

Another Paramount theatrical release is leaving the calendar, and that is the Antoine Fuqua-directed Mark Wahlberg sci-fi thriller Infinite, which will hit the Paramount+ streaming service in June.

Scott Mendelson says this movie is really bad. A few other review blurbs I saw also said it was bad. Paramount probably knew this was a turkey and that’s why they dumped it on Paramount plus.

Spoiler alert: pretty much any movie with Wahlberg is going to be at best, a waste of a premise.

Spenser Confidential was fun.
I don’t have Paramount+ so I won’t be watching this one and as much as I appreciate the studios giving us new releases on streaming services it’s a little tiring to have turd after turd after turd pinched off onto streaming services. I guess beggars can’t be choosers but jeez…

I have a friend, not Scott, that also said it was god awful. He said I should just watch The Matrix instead. Infinite is in 4K DV /Atmos on Paramount+.

This movie was bad. It's not a horrible premise, it's just that they didn't seem to care to explore the ideas in the movie...it almost felt like they had too much they wanted to get to, so they just jammed everything they had into an hour and 45 minutes. The whole film feels rushed.

Premise could have probably made a nice series on one of the good streaming services but as released it was disappointing.

This was everything corny about The Matrix and the F&F series rolled into one... it should have been awesome but instead it was garbage. In this movie's defense, I fell asleep a few times so maybe there were some awesome parts I missed but I have no desire to go back and find out. I used to really like Wahlberg but he's literally the same character in every movie... nothing changes between his role in The Other Guys or Infinite or Mile 22... just the same goddam delivery and affect in his voice over and over.

I enjoyed it, but there was definitely a lot of threads left unexplored. Should've really been a series instead of a movie it feels like.

Not a big fan of Marky Mark. I do like some of his movies, not sure what actor to compare him too. He does do a lot of movies.
It was okay, nothing special. Chiwetel Ejiofor made the movie a little better. Rather would have seen Chris Evans in the lead, but not even sure he could have saved this steaming pile of dog shit.
The main motive of the villain is

Just resubscribed to Paramount +. Definitely an enjoyable mix of Matrix, Old Guard, Highlander, and any number of other movies dealing with “immortal” or reincarnated individuals. I thought it was worth the two hours I spent on it, Even though it cost me .99 for a month of Paramount+
