In JAWS, what accent did Quint have?
Was it an Irish accent?
A working class Bostonian/New England accent?

What do you think?

I'm familiar with the Boston accent and it wasn't that. I always thought it was Irish.

It was a classic Irish/New England accent. Not fully one, not fully the other. Pretty common up here.

I came across Jaws when flipping through the channels last weekend - when they're out hunting on Quint's boat - and I started gushing about the movie. My 20 y/o son says "I don't get it. It's an okay movie about a crappy looking shark."

How'd I raise such an idiot?
