How does this work? Disney owns 20th Century Fox, Lucasfilm, Marvel, The Muppets, ABC, ESPN, Pixar, A&E, Lifetime, The History Channel, Hulu, and Hollywood Records, just to name the major bits of media. Do you just avoid most movies and TV shows?

Yeah, they're in monopoly territory, but the fact that they own half the stuff I love isn't stopping me...especially since a lot of what they put out (the Marvel films, for example...and they're batting about .500 on Star Wars, which - let's be honest - is at least as good a job as Lucas was doing) I enjoy quite a bit.

From a box office standpoint probably, but I have almost no interest in any of their movies. I am done with the super hero genre (I may never go to see one again), don't like the Pixar movies, and thought TFA was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. They are not making dramas, or really any genre films other than Marvel, so they are not really covering the entire market. It actually makes them pretty vulnerable if the Marvel franchise slips which it likely will at some point.
