One of my favorite directors because you just never know what he’s doing next.

His filmography is limited, but Rian Johnson seems not afraid to try to make different types of films from his last. (I know how despised he is by many in the TLJ thread, and I don’t care),

Re: Most diverse director?

He'll never win an Oscar but I like what Peter Berg has done over his career.

* Hancock
* Friday Night Lights
* Lone Survivor
* Deepwater Horizon
* Patriots Day
* Battleship (it was fun)

He does have a habit of doing movies based on real life events, and I'm wondering what's up with the reliance on Mark Wahlberg for about every movie since LS.

And he really misfired with Mile 22. Some brutal violence, especially Lauren Cohan getting just pounded, but ultimately it was a soulless FX fest.

You pretty much listed all of his bad films outside of Friday Night Lights there. I dig the Rundown and The Kingdom.

Lone Survivor is one of Berg’s best despite the lackluster fizzle of an ending.

Well he's not about to change the ending to make it more Hollywood, he stuck to Luttrell's book.

And I forgot about The Rundown. That was a lot of fun, too.

his films, while some good, really aren't too diverse. and i think i read they like working together or were friends or both...
