It’s a different article that came out last week that elaborates on the process.

^ That makes me want to watch the movie again for those scenes.
Even though I had read that original article back when, I forgot about it when I was watching the movie.

When I watched it last week, her scenes felt pretty seamless. Considering she was not actually on set and only standing in front of a green screen with only Zack Snyder shooting it, I thought they did a really good job digitally inserting her in.

This is now up on Netflix and there is also a 28 minute making of documentary as well.

Anyone else have a dead pixel on some of the scenes? Middle left of center frame? It comes and goes. Like one of the cameras they were using had an issue. So weird. I don't think it is a Netflix or any of my devices having issue because it happened on multiple devices and tvs.

The 28 minute documentary Creating an Army of the Dead was actually pretty good. They went into some good detail on the making of the movie including set & makeup design and also creating Las Vegas virtually. It's worth a watch if you're interested in behind the scenes material.
Since the movie was 2 1/2 hours long and I already saw it a week ago, I'm in no hurry to rewatch it again. But, I do recommend it if you're a fan of the Zombie and horror genre.

Fun flick. Had some good action and fun parts. Other parts had me rolling my eyes. This is probably one of the better movies Netflix has done, with regard to quality. Everything looked great and sounded great.
Omari Hardwick was one of the best parts of the movie, along with Tig Notaro. If you were paying attention you could tell in some places where she was added in.
Liked that they left it open for more installments. Would love to see this with a new cast every flick if they do more.

Netflix throwin' shade

I enjoyed it quite a bit but am certainly glad I didn’t pay to see it at the theater. Wasn’t “big” enough for that. Plays perfect as a B-movie on Netflix.
I do think it’s easily the best thing Snyder has done since 300 (mostly because it wasn’t filled with terrible choices) - he works so much better when he’s reigned in by budget.
The highlight was Samantha Win going all John Wick on a room full of zombies.
Question about the end:

I started out loving this but as it dragged on I began liking it less and less. By the end I thought it overstayed its welcome and was just waiting for it to end. There could have been at least 30 minutes of this edited out and that refugee mom subplot was predictable and nauseatingly stupid. And it was a complete waste since we didn’t see any pay off of her surviving at the end.
There were some cool kills and the zombie tiger was pretty badass. Tig Notaro was good although her shots seemed like they had a weird blur around her which made me think it was the technology of editing her in.
That begin said, I can see this being a decent franchise, if done right.

I liked it. It looked great, the characters were fun, and the zombie hierarchy was interesting. Some decent world-building that they can base future movies/shows on.
Speaking of which, did you notice the robot zombies? I was expecting some sort of reveal about them at the end, but it never came. I found this article, which references an upcoming animated spinoff series that may provide some answers:

Started off terrible but got better as it went on. Still just "okay". The John Wick bit was the highlight of the film.

That Zach Snyder movie was a very Zach Snyder movie. Entertaining, but ridiculously disposable,

I can't believe they didn't fix that. They can completely remove an actor and replace them with another actor, but they can't fix a couple dead pixels?

As a streaming movie, I'd give it an A. As a theatrical movie, I'd give it a B-. It would be better if they cut out 30 minutes. It was enjoyable, but not amazing.
It's missing a really big "wow" scene. There wasn't anything that blew me away.

Yes. There were 3-4 dead pixels right in the middle/left of the screen. It was driving me nuts the whole movie. At first I thought it was a problem with my TV. But it would come and go. Other people are posting about it on reddit & twitter, so it's a legit issue.

ok, THANK YOU. I was wondering WTF was going on with my new TV - it was driving me nuts!
