These kind of comments are puzzling.
What do you expect from a movie like this?
How else could they make a movie like this?

Do you say this about every movie that is loaded with special affects now?

What exactly is the point of the comment?

It's a valid feeling, the teaser opted to prioritize CG and It's unquestionably a CG orgy, I normally hate those now that every movie seems to end in one, but got enough from the teaser to think it'll be fun.

Re: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022, D: Raimi)

I guess I expect more than just a seizure inducing kaleidoscope of CGI thrown at the screen. Literally every single frame of that trailer was nothing but CGI. I suppose now that they’ve got down the rabbit hole of the multi-verse, that’s what we can expect from now on.

It also seems to be a near universally accepted criticism of DC movies. But for some reason the MCU gets a pass

But I forgot, I’m supposed to suckle the teat of Marvel.

Hey guys! Patrick Stewart’s voice!!!

Doctor Strange is a sorcerer you know. And a lot of what he does deals with magic and other mystical realms. You kinda need special effects for that.

Its got nothing to do with who is making the movie. I’m just talking about your specific comments about this movie.

Are the only movies like Power of the Dog the only valid movies because they don’t load up on cgi?

Im just wondering what you expected from a movie like this and what’s wrong with a movie having a ton of special effects?

I just don’t get the complaint.
BTW Movies aren’t real either.

Hey is it too much to ask for just a practical effect for the portrayal of Shuma-Gorath?

Re: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022, D: Raimi)

I’ve got nothing against CGI in movies. I like special effects heavy movies as much as the next guy but that entire trailer was nothing but CGI spooge dripping off the screen.

Like I said, I’ll wait for reviews but judging by that trailer, I’m not expecting much more than “ooh, that movie is going to be a great demo for my 4K setup!”

Whenever a conversation about movies gets to the point when the counter-argument is “movies aren’t real, ya know.” That’s my cue to check out.

When you strip the CGI, all MCU films now are just a few props, green screens, guys in green/blue suits and a couple of actors .😆😆😆

The trailer was an all over the place mess.

Marvel movies are good now because the special effects are not a barrier anymore.

And the first Dr. Strange has a bazillion CGI shots. How do you show the very fabric of time splitting apart at a sorcerer’s hands without it?

That looks incredible. Hopefully Raimi got a freer hand than Spider-Man 3.

Maybe some want it to look more like Army of Darkness

Indeed. All I ask is that they have a chainsaw somewhere in this.

Also it looked like Wanda was in her WandaVision house, which is a neat touch.

They've had how many movies prior to establish and expand on the central character(s). This trailer doesn't need to serve as an introduction to them to get people interested. If you don't know them and the main thrust of the film by now, then you likely aren't part of the audience for it.

Besides, as much as the CG flash was fun to see a hint of, the most impactful moment in it for me was Wanda's "you break the rules..." dialogue- with Olsen's hint-of-things-to-come in her reading of "that doesn't seem fair". Beautiful moment that's impactful because it carries all the weight accumulated over the years.

Professor X, Baldr, Captain Carter, Monica Rambeau, Mordo, Reed Richards, and Black Bolt. Tom Cruise as Tony Stark is rumored as well, but I was told he is in his own universe. As for Namor, there are evidence that suggest he will be in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever instead.

Seems rather short for a movie of this scale but we'll see.

Re: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022, D: Raimi)

Special effects can be great when they are used properly. Not everything can be practical effects like in Evil Dead 2, which Decker still needs to see. I also think there will be a tad bit more of a discussion about this movie than it being a worthy demo disc when it comes out.

Tickets are now on sale. I hit that digital queue on Fandango, similar to NWH, but the demand isn't anywhere near as great, since there wasn't any wait time.
