I suppose he feels like he deserves some sort of credit, but I don’t really see it as plagiarism or ripping off an idea.

I didn't read any of his follow ups, but I just think it's quite something that they used his idea almost exactly as written. I agree that they don't technically owe him anything though.

Does anyone seriously think Disney is going to do anything with Deadpool? I'm thinking this little special is Reynolds and friends having one last hurrah with the character because they can guess what the mouse is going to do with Deadpool.

After all... this is the company that's so afraid of offending someone they won't release Song of the South. What are they going to do with a character who pretty much offends everyone?

^That X 1,000. Although it would be nice if they inserted a credit ala the original style: "Re-created based on an idea by some social media hack."

... and ^that. I mean, we already know Disney takes hypocrisy to new levels, but it would utterly amaze me if they were to continue Deadpool this way (the way it should be) after the James Gunn debacle.

So are these clips from the movie, or do you think they filmed some extra stuff as promos?

Interesting that that Nickelback clip was filmed for the PG-13 cut yet they still used the F-word and then bleep it out.

Using the F word and bleeping it out would actually be more in line with the source material than the more graphic stuff that we got in the movies.

At least in my area, this appears to only be showing at AMC Theaters. I can't find it anywhere else.

Deadpool has a bleep button he's using to bleep himself, according to this clip:

Edit: rewatching the previous clips, you can see Deadpool clicking the bleeper in his hand when he swears.

This actually seems like it’s going to enhance Deadpool 2 to me and may be a more enjoyable film. I’m curious how different the actual movie is minus the wrap around aspects with Deadpool and Fred Savage.

I did think it was ironic with all the pedophile jokes in Deadpool 2.

It's 20 minutes shorter despite having added material and (allegedly) some bits of #1 mixed in. I think it'll be worth watching just for the "fun with editing" aspect.

I wonder what’s being trimmed though. I mean the wrap around parts with Fred Savage are taking up some time obviously, and from the first trailer it looks like there’s some added parts to the movie itself. On top of that if it’s overall shorter there’s gotta be some cuts. Wondering if maybe the whole X-Force tryouts part will be omitted as that ultimately goes nowhere anyways. That’s probably a good ten minutes cut.

This is sacrilege, but you actually could cut out the whole Vanessa storyline and the violent intro flashback and still have a film that makes sense.

Wouldn’t it be funny if they actually didn’t change anything? Families going to see DeadPool for the first time ... yeah, I’m sick.

I suppose that’s true since everything with the storyline involving her is reversed at the end anyways.

The Vanessa storyline is important to the movie because it explains why Deadpool is suicidal and doesn't want to help the kid. With it, we understand Deadpool is in pain. Without it, he just looks like an unsympathetic jerk.

Well, I mean, they have to change something in order to get the PG-13 rating. Although in the US, that likely means toning down the swearing/nudity a lot more than it means toning down violence.

The Vanessa storyline is only important in that context. I’m not saying I dislike the storyline, I’m saying you can cut it and still have a movie that makes sense. You start with DeadPool, Colossus, and Teenage Negasonic Warhead (coolest name ever!) going to the orphanage. It’s not as good of a movie, but it still works.

Yeah, and if the movie is shorter already but adding stuff obviously some things have to go.
