Your Top 10 of 2018
We're a few days into December, so might as well get these lists started. Speaking of which, the only December releases I'm interested in are The Mule and Aquaman, so my current list won't be dramatically different at the end of the year.
|
Re: Your Top 10 of 2018
I generally don't have a list until about the end of January because all the good limited releases take time to get out.
Though I can say for sure that currently 1. First Reformed, 2. BlacKkKlansman |
Re: Your Top 10 of 2018
I'll keep editing this post...
Hereditary Bohemian Rhapsody Annihilation Won't You Be My Neighbor Avengers: End Game Ready Player One |
Re: Your Top 10 of 2018

Re: Your Top 10 of 2018
I can't even come up with 10 movies I thought were excellent this year. I enjoyed quite a few but I can only come up with a couple that blew me away.
The movies I enjoyed the most were Infinity War, Mission Impossible Fallout, Deadpool 2, Ant Man and Wasp and only the first would I consider excellent overall. |
Re: Your Top 10 of 2018
I'll have to think about it, especially after I see more people's lists (and more movies that are on people's lists)... but my favorite movies this year are probably Searching, A Star is Born, and Infinity War.
|
Re: Your Top 10 of 2018

Re: Your Top 10 of 2018
BlacKkKlansman
Sorry to Bother You Christopher Robin I’ve seen a lot of films this year, but as usual the “best” are usually so late in the year and/or so limited release that I may not see them until Oscar month. |

In no particular order:
Sorry to Bother You First Reformed BlackKklansman Mandy Suspiria The Favourite I still have to see quite a few more in the coming weeks before I finalize my list. |

Re: Your Top 10 of 2018
1. Mission Impossible: Fallout
2. A Simple Favor 3. A Star is Born 4. A Quiet Place 5. Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse 6. Avengers: Infinity War 7. They Shall Not Grow Old (WWI documentary from Peter Jackson) 8. Whitney (Whitney Houston documentary) 9. Bumblebee 10. Won’t you be my Neighbor? Honorable mentions: First Man, Bohemian Rhapsody, Halloween, Blackkklansman, Black Panther, Ready Player One, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Ralph Breaks the Internet Loved Overlord, but too bad no one watched it. Deadpool 2, Searching, Incredibles 2. There are some that I liked, was entertained by, but I wouldn't call them my favorites of the year. Crazy Rich Asians, Creed II would be one of those. |

Re: Your Top 10 of 2018
I honestly haven't seen enough this year for a solid top 10, but here's my top 5 (so far):
Creed II A Star is Born Won't You Be My Neighbor? Mission Impossible: Fallout Game Night |
Re: Your Top 10 of 2018
I could barely scrap together a top 10. 2018 has been one of the crappiest years for movies. My list from least favorite to favorite.
10. First Man 9. Solo 8. Sicario 7. Game Night 6. Black Panther 5. Deadpool 2 4. Ready Player One 3. Mission Impossible 2. Paul Apostle of Christ 1. Avengers Infinity War Avengers will always be one of my favorite movie going audience experiences. The applause when Cap first shows up and then gasps and not knowing which of the beloved heroes might be killed at any moment was so thrilling. |
Re: Your Top 10 of 2018
Hell, I'm still digging through 2017, a remarkably strong year for films (most of which went under the radar, hence why I'm still working on it).
I'll throw this one out as my '18 favorite though, and one I expect will get a lot of attention once more people are able to see it: A Japanese zombie comedy called One Cut of the Dead. Recently won the audience award at a film festival more noted for rewarding Important Movies (yes, the capitalization was intended) |
Re: Your Top 10 of 2018
Did a swap on my list. Forgot about Won't you be my Neighbor? That was an amazing film and documentary. Definitely top 10 material.
|
Re: Your Top 10 of 2018
I literally watch less and less movies each year. I don't think I could even do a top 10 list.
Here are my favorites of the year: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse A Quiet Place Avengers: Infinity War Incredibles 2 Sicario: Day of the Soldado MI: Fallout I probably saw 15 flicks and nothing else deserves to be on the list, unfortunately. :( I know when I see MI: Fallout and A Star is Born, those will probably go on the list, but haven't seen them yet. Edit: Added Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which is, my favorite movie of the year so far. Edit 2: MI: Fallout on the list now |
Re: Your Top 10 of 2018
Some of my favorites:
Avengers Infinity War Black Panther Love Simon The Hate U Give Crazy Rich Asians Incredibles 2, Ralph Breaks the Internet, and Ant-Man and the Wasp were entertaining but not sure if they'd make my list. |

Cage has been awful for so long and it is hard to believe he actually did something good since 2007. Blindspotting should be on more lists. |

That said, I was extremely disappointed in Mandy...I expected much more from that movie...I actually prefer that movie Mom and Dad that he did recently with Selma Blair...That was a better movie, in my mind... |
Re: Your Top 10 of 2018
There's too many movies I still want to see to do a list, but Eighth Grade is my favorite of the year. I don't see any other movie taking its place.

Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, Joe, and Mandy are all excellent films. And he's great in all 3. Mom and Dad, Kick-Ass and Snowden are pretty good too. |

Re: Your Top 10 of 2018
Question: Are NetFlix movies allowed in this? (Just their movies but not their series, limited or otherwise)
Also, did no one like "Chappaquiddick"? (theatrically released in 2018 and one of the year's best, IMO, but no one has listed it so far) |
