Weird that The Rock is on the poster--my understanding was he just had a cameo (and is obviously producing it).

But without him being on it, how else would they sell this to get people to actually go? They want his target audience and fans.

Does anyone else find it strange that they're selling this as a true story but playing it as if Paige is her real name?

Must have been updated since the last time I looked at it a few months ago. When I went looking for it before, everything (cast lists, plot summaries, etc) listed the character as Paige, which if that were the case, is kinda like making a Hulk Hogan biopic where you pretend Hulk is his given name, which would be odd. Nevermind then.

I thought this was great. Another excellent performance by Pugh. She is going to have a good career.
The only thing I thought was weird was how they handled match at the end.

Yeah, you could tell Paige was nervous at the time, but she didn't freeze quite like that and freaks and geeks came much later (with AJ not against her). It's a movie though.
Thought Pugh did a great job channeling Paige.or at least the PG-13 version of Paige.
While I liked it, and the movie is a feel good story, knowing the real story doesn't have a happy ending did adjust my view of the movie as a whole.

Alive...sure...but she was effectively permanently retired from wrestling by the age of 24. I mean I hope she can figure out what she wants to do with the rest of her life. One of the reasons WWE kept her employed during that scandal and the whole crazy toxic Del Rio phase was because of this movie. Well the movie is out now so we'll see how much longer she stays employed.

Saw the film earlier tonight.
Safe but well-made & well-cast.
As someone who has been watching Saraya Knight wrestle for the past 7 years, it was great to see Lena Headey in that role.
It also was great to see Dave Mastiff in the film, even if it was a tiny role.

Yeah, I enjoyed this one quite a bit. Good cast as well and I was pleasantly surprised by Vince Vaughn, delivered a nice low key performance.

This was a fun movie. I redboxed it. Keep in mind that there is a "director's cut" version on the BD but it's located in the bonus features, so I completely missed it. I did do a comparison on running times and they only differ by seconds but I am assuming the DC features alternate shots/dialogue. I wish that they hadn't buried that option in the bonus section and just listed out front.
