Watched the Verdict (1982) for the first time
SPOILERS !
I watched the verdict with Paul Newman for the first time
Not a bad legal drama even though it was a bit stretched out and i have no clue how Newman won the case but anyway
When Newman's character punched Charlotte Rampling in the mouth when he found out she was a 'spy' i thought that was one shocking moment in cinema !
He didnt slap her, he gave her a full on punch ! in public too

Re: Watched the Verdict (1982) for the first time
Recently re-watched The Verdict - incredible film, and agree it's one of PN's best performances - I'd say one of his top 5.
I think it was brilliant to set/film this movie in winter (don't know whether this was intentional or not), since the stark, cold Boston weather outside complemented the coldness that Newman's character had to deal with when trying to get justice for his clients.
And, the CR character deserved to get bitch-slapped - she was a lying piece of shit that betrayed the PN character and the family that were justifiably suing the hospital (which the PN character was representing).
