So I vaguely remember the plot,but I watched a movie when I was a young kid before year 2003 that I for the life of me cannot remember or find so I am reaching out to cyberspace to lend a helping hand because my unaccomplished quest is driving me NUTS!

The setting was like a post western/old American/outback farm settlement. There was a white woman with short dark hair, like a tomboy, who somehow had gotten this Native American man who she could barely have a conversation with in English to help work and do chores on her ranch/farm (he was indebted to her somehow). I remember she was ordering him around and one day she was up hammering some wood on the outside of her house (she lived alone) when she started losing her balance and he reached up to stop her fall - he unfortunately stopped her by shoving her with his hand on her backside. Needless to say it was awkward and full of sexual tension afterwards and soon they started a relationship.

Anyone please ideas of what this film is called???

That's the first film that came to mind, -Suzy Amis was living by herself and posing as a man (as a means of protection), though her eventual "love interest" was an Asian man, not a Native American.
