He's like Robert Plant and Led Zep. Been there, done that. Talks shit about it.

Granted, it was five years ago but for the right project (and price), I'm sure he'd be open to it.

Yep, I hated that movie as well. Course, I think Blomkamp is overrated...

Since when has Weller supposedly been done with Hollywood. He was the main villain on last season's The Last Ship and has directed multiple episodes of that series, as well as many other series.

I can’t see Peter Weller coming back. At least if he would I doubt it would be as Murphy/Robocop. Even if he came back I don’t know how they’d explain that Robocop has aged.

Put him in a mocap suit, and he wont have to suffer in the old suit.

If would be extremely easy to "de-age" the little bit of Robo's face that shows.

He became a professor of art history. Presumably he'd rather be doing that than acting.

Is Weller coming back as Robofart? Causes he's old.

This happened since his involvement with last season of The Last Ship?

This is maybe the only thing that could get me on board with Blomkamp's Robocop. As of now, I have...uh, let me check my gauges here...yes, here it is...I have zero faith in this guy.

I like the grungy, guerilla filmmaking type “documentary special effects” look of Blomkamp’s movies but I think with the exception of District 9 which is slightly overrated. I don’t think anyone has rated his films very high. They’ve all been pretty lackluster, to say the least.

True but that’s assuming he never removes the helmet. I guess overall he hasn’t aged that badly though and considering that it’s just his face they might be able to CG it and have it look alright.

Instead of trying to make him look young how about embrace the age? Give him a cane that can transform into a super baton. Give him a wheelchair that can transform into a bad ass Robocopter.

I have faith that Blomkamp can pull this off.

RoboCop was made with living tissue of Murphy. What's the problem with showing his face/skin with age?

Would love to see Weller in an Old Man Robocop movie. It could be the the "Logan" of Robocop movies.

His face is basically just a prosthetic made from the real Alex Murphy so I’m not really sure how it would age. He’s not really alive though so I don’t think he’d age like a normal person. If anything I’d imagine it would maybe decompose over time or his face may show wear/damage from any situations he’s been involved in.

It's science fiction, they can make up some excuse about his appearance and make it work.

There’s a decent story in there somewhere. I’d be kind of curious to see an older, crumbling Robocop that’s been forgotten and lost to time and future tech. Robocop working with a failing mechanical body would be an interesting take.

What? No. They save his face and most of his brain. There's a little heart/lung machine in his torso and a rudimentary digestive system (tastes like baby food!).

I don’t think we ever really know how much of his human elements are in Robocop. Either way it doesn’t really change what I said. He wouldn’t really age like normal since most of his body is machine.

I’d love to see this movie happen, but I suspect it will have the same fate as Blomkamp’s Alien sequel.

Perhaps.

They'd probably CGI de-age him or something. Has Weller commented on this or was that Neill's hope that Weller will play him in this new film?

This is one of those movies that on the surface you think you want, but that I think will ultimately disappoint and never live up to the original. Even with Weller. Ehh. I could do without it.

Weller would be very easy to de-age. bring it!
