Jet Li Battling Thyroid Disorder
File this under "WHOA!"
The pic was posted by a fan who posed with the action star during a recent visit to Tibet. It shows Jet looking frail and nearly bald. He revealed back in 2013 he suffers from hyperthyroidism and a heart condition.
At the time, he said he could continue making action films or spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. But, more to the point ... Jet has also suffered serious leg and spine injuries over the course of his career, admitting he can't stand for a long period of time without hunching.
Just 4 years ago Li was starring alongside some of the biggest action stars in the world in "The Expendables 3" ... looking nowhere near what he looks like now.

So, apparently, Jet Li is suffering from "hyperthyroidism and spinal problems" and this is him now ❤️😓: pic.twitter.com/Ss0W2EL96D

Sad. I follow him on Facebook and he has been looking old almost overnite the last year or so. He addressed rumors at one point, saying it was just normal aging.

He looks like him, just with a shaved head. He needs to get different glasses.

Here's Jet from December on Instagram.
His symptoms are pretty typical for this disorder. Hair and Weight loss especially. I suffer from Hypothyroidism, which is a lack of thyroid, and I have to take medication daily.

Jet Li's manager denies that he's in poor health.
He released this photo of Jet that was taken May 12th.

I mean yeah he's aged significantly and lost hair. But he doesn't look sick.

Hope he gets better and beats this.
I always pictured him as a young guy though I have not seen him in any movies in a long time.

Jet Li seems to be very much at peace with his situation, and is deriving this sense of steadiness from his Buddhist beliefs.
Met him twice in Vancouver when he filmed Romeo Must Die and War, he was very humble and kept on saying how grateful he is with his fortunes.

Even if he was in perfect health those Tojo glasses would still make him look 20 years older.

Re: Jet Li Battling Thyroid Disorder
Sad news. I wish all the best for Jet Li. I've been a fan of his films since the 200X's, notably: Unleashed, Romeo Must Die, Fearless, Kiss of the Dragon, Hero, and some others. He had a small but significant role in Lethal Weapon 4 (1997), which I think may have been his first U.S. film.
Re: his health issues, I can imagine that performing in the physically taxing film roles over the years have taken a toll on him; it's like those older boxers/football players that are in bad physical shape due to the abuse their bodies have taken over the years.
I will say this: What's puzzling about the recent pictures of Li are that in Post #1 (the one where he's standing with a fan in Tibet), he looks ancient - much older than his actual age of 55. However, in the pic. in post #8 - taken around the same time....he looks much younger & more his actual age. Maybe it's just the angle/light.
Very refreshing to hear. It's nice to hear that not all Hollywood movie stars are entitled, arrogant pricks. However, I've never considered Li a mainstream star - even though he's been in a lot of films over the years, I never put him in the category of a mainstream actor like Tom Cruise, Mel Gibson, etc.
