Kodachrome (2018) S: Jason Sudeikis, Ed Harris, Elizabeth Olsen -- Netflix

Matt Ryder (Sudeikis) is convinced to drive his estranged and dying father Benjamin Ryder (Harris) cross country to deliver four old rolls of Kodachrome film to the last lab in the world that can develop them before it shuts down for good. Along with Ben's nurse Zooey (Olsen), the three navigate a world changing from analog to digital while trying to put the past behind them.

First of all there’s still many places that develop 35mm film. There’s a place near me that can do color on site, but they do have to send black and white out.

Second, this looks like maudlin shit.

Another TIFF show buried on Netflix. Not that I would've seen this via either venue, but the practice continues to make me reconsider my attendance this year. Paying festival prices for movies destined -- even rightly so -- for the cheapest, easiest of home video formats seems increasingly pointless.

Rather than start a new thread, I'll just put the trailer for Boundaries here because it looks like the same friggin' movie (although I guess I'd give Vera Farmiga and Christopher Plummer the edge over Sudeikis and Harris).

I didn't know this was supposed to based on a true story or real life events.

Could this join Baby Driver and The Only Living Boy in New York in the extended Simon & Garfunkelverse?

This was my thought exactly, too. Would be an interesting idea if there the premise wasn’t complete bullshit.

See above. Your central premise can’t be bullshit.

Your jungle adventure film can’t be about trying to find the world’s only T Rex skull fossil, because we all know there are a great deal of them.
