I was so bummed last night when I heard R. Lee Ermey had died. I mean, how can you not love that guy?
Yeah, he was amazing in Full Metal Jacket (a part that he ad libbed, to a degree - in a Kubrick film, no less), but he was good in everything that he did. He will be missed.

I also really like his History Channel show where he shot guns, drove in tanks and blew stuff up. When the history channel actually had, like history, on it.

Re: RIP R Lee Ermey
The last thing I remember coming from Ermey was that interview he did some time ago where he claimed that right before Kubricks death, they spoke on the phone and Kubrick told Ermey that Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman walked all over him during the production of Eyes Wide Shut and that the critics were going to hate it.

Seeing has how most people would consider Ermey as the highlight of a brilliant film, securing his place in film history with a single role, a week after his death? And you've never seen it? Yeah, I would definitely go.
I loved seeing him show up in everything, especially his voice over roles in kid's movies.

They are also showing the movie on their "Grand Screen"(Large Format Theater), and they do an awesome job with programming with older movies. Tickets are $5.
