Mason "The Line" Dixon from Rocky Balboa. It would have been a great name but the movie took itself a bit too seriously for it to work as a joke.

Horrible. Equally bad was Whittaker's character. I thought it was either Sol or Saul the entire time watching it.

Of course, the first and last time I saw the movie was long before "The Simpsons" existed, so no one back then would have given it a second thought.

On the other hand, when I saw GODZILLA, KING OF THE MONSTERS at Japan Society in 1979, when Raymond Burr introduced himself as "Steve Martin," the crowd roared!

There was an actual NASCAR drive named Dick Trickle and there have been at least two named "Cole". It's a silly name but it's realistic at least.

Chili Palmer in Get Shorty- could not enjoy that movie with the main character having such a stupid name.

There was a character named Harry Potter in the first Troll movie.

This probably won't count as "worst", necessarily, especially in light of this thread full of doozies, but I really dislike it when writers/directors name their characters after famous -- and generally more talented -- directors they idolize. It's particularly jarring in low-budget B-movies, where the pandering is all the more ridiculous because the contrast in quality is so stark. I've seen it a few times over the years and it always makes me cringe, even when the movie is half-way decent, like Stephen Norrington's Death Machine.

I seem to recall that John Carpenter named a few of the characters in Escape from New York after directors. I can recall Romero being one. It wasnt so bad here as i dont think you even heard their names mentioned in the movie itself.

None of them are as bad as June Moon from Suicide Squad.

Well, maybe Pepper Potts. But alliteration was Stan Lee's "thing". June Moon is just dumb.

But all the Sith gave their apprentices heavy handed names. They were the original emo-kids!

Now Jar Jar Binks, that's a dumb name.

I've also noticed that a lot of chatacters rooted in the golden age, esp. DC, have first names for last names.
