Re: 3 From Hell (2019, D: Rob Zombie) -- sequel to The Devil's Rejects
The teaser for Rob Zombie‘s 3 from Hell dropped yesterday, and in the wake of its release, fans have had many questions. Today, over on Facebook, Zombie answers several of them!
For starters, Zombie notes that 3 from Hell takes place *immediately* following The Devil’s Rejects, and he assures that Captain Spaulding is definitely in the movie.
Additionally, he says to expect a longer trailer for the film in July, with the movie being released in theaters in September. “Not sure of exact release date yet,” he notes.
As for how the Firefly trio survived the events of Rejects…he’s remaining tight-lipped for now!
In addition to the returning Sheri Moon Zombie, Bill Moseley and Sid Haig, the cast also includes Danny Trejo, Kevin Jackson, Wade Williams, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Clint Howard, Pancho Moler, Emilio Rivera, Daniel Roebuck, David Ury, Sean Whalen, Austin Stoker, Dee Wallace, Richard Brake, Bill Oberst Jr., Richard Riehle, Dot-Marie Jones and Tom Papa.
Barry Bostwick and Chaz Bono have both been confirmed for cameos.
Three from Hell has been rated R for “strong sadistic violence, language throughout, sexual content, graphic nudity, and drug use.”

Don't expect Sid Haig to have much of a role. Richard Brake was brought in to be the new Firefly family member because Sid wasn't able to shoot for many days.

I've seen some recent convention interviews with Haig and while he still does a good one, he's obviously not in good condition and coughs a lot. I wouldn't be surprised if his character meets an early demise, which is a shame because he's the best of the three.

Re: 3 From Hell (2019, D: Rob Zombie) -- sequel to The Devil's Rejects

We’ve learned today that Lionsgate and Saban Films are unleashing Rob Zombie’s 3 From Hell, the follow-up to House of 1,000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects, in nearly 900 select movie theaters on September 16, 17 and 18, 2019 through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network. Fathom Events will broadcast the unrated version to theaters with each night featuring unique bonus content.
On September 16th, moviegoers will see a special video introduction from Rob Zombie with the first 50 attendees at each theater receiving an exclusive poster (while supplies last). On the 17th, audiences will be treated to a nearly 30-minute behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film. On the 18th, moviegoers will experience the ultimate double feature including 3 From Hell and The Devil’s Rejects.
“This event is a long time coming,” says Zombie. “The journey of these characters has always been special to me and I am thrilled to finally let the fans experience the next episode of the Firefly madness. This project was a true labor of love for everyone involved and we know we have created something amazing for the loyal followers of these films. Let the insanity begin!”
“We are excited to collaborate again with Rob Zombie,” said Lionsgate President of Worldwide Home Entertainment Ron Schwartz. “With House of 1,000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects, Rob Zombie delivered thrills and high doses of gore to genre fans. We look forward to bringing this next chapter to screens with Saban Films and Fathom.”
“In 2003 a bold new cinematic voice emerged with House of 1,000 Corpses,” said Jonathan Saba, Saban Films’ Senior Vice President of Distribution, Sales and Marketing. “And with the sequel, The Devil’s Rejects, Rob Zombie cemented his legacy as one of the most influential and important modern-day genre filmmakers. Now nearly 15 years later, Rob returns to the Firefly family in an audacious and wholly singular new chapter in this gory saga. I can’t wait for audiences to see this film on the big screen thanks to our partners at Lionsgate and Fathom.”
Tickets for 3 From Hell can be purchased beginning Friday, July 19 at www.FathomEvents.com and participating theater box offices. A complete list of theater locations will be available July 19 at the Fathom Events website (theaters and participants are subject to change).

When I heard 31 had bad reviews, I didn't check it out until my library had it for free rental. When I hear Fathom Event, I think limited evening shows that are high-priced. I don't do evening movies.

Yeah, I too associate Fathom with overpriced tickets. I guess that some people who live in areas where regular tickets are way overpriced consider Fathom Events cheaper, but I'm used to paying 10-11$ for new movies in the evening, and $7 or less before 6PM. Fathom Events are generally $12.50 regardless of what time of day they are playing (they do have some afternoon showings, but they are the same price as the evening showings), and there are no kids prices, which generally keeps me to only seeing stuff that I really want to see and isn't available elsewhere (such as Rifftrax: Live) and pretty much never bringing my kids. I'd like to bring my kids to stuff like the Studio Ghibli festivals that they do, but I'm not paying 12.50 per kid for something that I can get for free at the library and watch in the convenience of my home theater.

I guess I'll see when the tickets go on sale. While I'm real interested in this, his past few movies have been disappointments (to me).
