I blame my loss on mwbmis. If he hadn't answered David Strathairn (!), Oscar nominee of Good Night and Good Luck and a costar in Deloris Claiborne, I would have had a -5 instead of a +2 and I would have won. The very question that I mocked because there were so many possible correct unique answers, I go as far off the board as I could think of (after putting together a mental list of like 20 possible selections), and I still got a match. Unreal.

But congrats to Crocker and majorjoe. Well-fought game.

Nonsense, you did a great job running the game. I know how tricky it is juggling all those answers and players and points.

Are you doing it on the fly or do you have the Sheep scoring template one of the elder Sheepmasters made?

Yeah, don't sweat it, Mr. Flix. SMing is a tough job with a lot of things that can go wrong.

Thanks for running the game, and congrats to Crocker!

Shouldn't I be at 116?

Mostly just because.

Goddamn Mr. Flix! Who's scoring this game, me?!

Seriously ... Great game and excellent reveals! Thank you for putting the work in on it! Congrats to ... well, whoever!

Maximum Overdrive seems to be universally reviled ... why do I have such fond memories of it as a kid?

Re: The Sheepshank Redemption: Stephen King Movie Sheep Game

Congrats Crocker on winning one. Unless, of course, the scoring is updated and you end up losing after all Thanks for running the game Mr. Flix. People who haven't sheepmastered don't always realize the work it takes to run a game.

I could've been a contender (only 11 behind the winner). Too many sheepy answers missed, non-ideal slam play, and bad matches on reverses. Oh well ... maybe next game.

Re: The Sheepshank Redemption: Stephen King Movie Sheep Game

If you're in the right mind-set Maximum Overdrive is a pretty fun movie. There's all that AC/DC music, the characters speak with all sorts of bizarre vulgarities. There aren't any dead spots, it's all truck chases and blowing shit up.

That said, it is disappointing King wasn't more ambitious, and chose to make, as he called it "a moron movie". Maximum Overdrive came out in the midst of King publishing his best works, with truly frightening books like Pet Semetary.

Of all the kills in the movie, the one that leaves me scratching my head the most is the guy who was apparently killed by his walkman. How did that happen? Did the batteries somehow generate enough of a charge to electrocute his head? Did they turn the volume up so loud his fucking brain exploded?

While I probably won’t seek out opportunities to watch it, if I’m channel flipping and Maximum Overdrive is on then I’m almost certainly stopping to watch it. I can't really say that about some of the other bad King movies. Plus, Lisa Simpson is in it.

We made you!

It's okay. I probably like The Raft story the best ("I beat you!" ).

And yet it doesn't hold a candle to the short story itself, which has a different ending and is truly scary.

Ambitious? He was doing so much coke during the production that it is amazing there were white lines on the roads while they were filming.

I always thought the soda machine kill was the oddest one. How does a gravity fed chute become a cannon? Yeah -- these are the things we are questioning!

Re: The Sheepshank Redemption: Stephen King Movie Sheep Game

I see today is Stephen King's birthday. I was wracking my brain trying to remember if he ever wrote a story about a birthday, but couldn't come up with anything.
