Question about line in Friday The 13th Part IV.
So I finally decided to make my way through all the major horror franchises, starting with FT13. In part IV just under the 8 minute mark they say "last time he got ## people and ## bikers" (don't know if exact words, but exact meaning) "this time they got him." Didn't he get the bikers the SAME time they got him? I thought this was a direct continuation.

It would have been a better line if he'd said "Last night he got" instead of "Last time".
Hope that helps!

Best not think to hard about it, I mean in part 4, Rob's sister has really only been dead around 48 hours and Amy Steele, Dana Kimmell and Kimberley Beck should all be in the hospital together in adjoining rooms.

It would be nice to see a logical progression of events instead of lazy writing in this case. I think it would've been cool if the above happened with the heroines, just like how I wish the alternate ending was used since it was perfect(I love the glimpse of the morning after and the creepiness of it as word gets out about the events). The Rob story line really doesn't make sense as you say(I realized that years ago). If the movie took place weeks later, I could buy it. But 48 hours and he's suddenly super hunter out for vengeance traveling across country(I'm sure).
One thing I've been curious about though is in the news paper clippings Rob has. It mentions the owners(or something) of a diner being killed by the maniac(logically it makes no sense in the timeline of events however, again, bad writing). I recall reading an interview with the director years ago talk about a cut diner massacre sequence that was really atmospheric, and for whatever reason it was cut out, and basically reworked into part 5. I wish that sequence was available to see, since it sounds interesting, but again, makes no sense in the timeline of events, since basically it'd happen as Jason makes his way from the hospital back to Crystal lake. And it'd be basically an added gratuitous murder sequence with characters that aren't even introduced at any earlier point in the film.
But all these questions are things best left not worrying about since no effort was put into the material by the writers. However, it does at least give fans plenty of things to ponder and create their own story lines around if they choose and actually put some imagination into it.

Hell, the first two should still be in the hospital when they take Jason to the morgue at the beginning of 4.
