Aliens 3D (Maybe, depends on T2 3D)

No need for this, or even T2 3D for that matter. Knowing Cameron, we'll see Aliens 3D see the light of day BEFORE we see True Lies and Abyss in 4K or even blu.

Cameron revealed that pending a good reception to Terminator 2’s 3D release that Aliens would next on the agenda!

“We haven’t proven the business case yet so ask me again in a couple of weeks if T2 Judgement Day in 3D does well. I think the next title on my list, in terms of fan enthusiasm would probably have to be Aliens before I got to the other titles that you mentioned."

Aliens seems to really hold up in people’s minds and that would probably be my next one. But we’ve got to prove the business case here so people have to show up. So show up!”

Post-converted 3D never looks that great.

Honestly I've never been the hugest fan of Aliens. It's alright but the first film is far superior in my opinion. Kind of tired of Cameron too. He talks way more than he does it seems like. He's got this maybe happening, his four sequels to Avatar (which seemingly no one asked for), he's talking about doing more Terminator films in a couple years. He seems to have good ideas but kicks them around too much before making a move on anything.

Ridley Scott at least makes films on a regular basis. They might not all be masterpieces but he still has more new content coming while Cameron relies on talking big. His last new film to see a release was already eight years ago and since then all he's done are two 3D conversions of older films.

It's show business, not show art.

$$$$$

And that's why they suck.

I would check this out. It's totally unnecessary but could be fun. That being said, given how long it takes for him to release anything, I would rather Cameron turn his attention to some of the more neglected films in his filmography.

Would love to see this on the big screen. Such an amazing film score, which definitely heightened the tension during the action scenes.

So it wasn't feasible to shoot Alien Covenant in 3D even though Ridley Scott had wanted to, but it is to convert this for a re-release?

I don't know about cost differences, but it makes sense from a fan-satisfaction point of view. I'd say there would be more demand for Aliens in 3D than disappointment from Covenant not being 3D.
