I was going to see this movie in the theaters, but after hearing all the reviews I am not going to waste my time. I wonder what was offensive about the movie, I am kind of curious. I’ll definitely check this movie out on video since I have been looking forward to it for a while.

It started slow and I thought I was going to hate this but this was not that bad.
I liked the interactions with Carell and Leslie Mann and the real people more than the scenes with the dolls which is probably not good if the dolls are the main selling point of the movie.

Carell probably needs to reconsider taking on this kind of obvious award-bait role as it doesn't seem to pay off much. Reminds me of Robin Williams' career in some ways.

I rented this for $1.50 on Google Play movies and watched it today. I can see why it bombed. This was the definition of a sappy bad movie disguised as award winner material click bait.
I didn't like this movie at all. The only thing I liked about it was the stop motion animation with the dolls. That was probably the only thing really entertaining about it.
The "romance" they tried to play with Carell's character and Leslie Mann's character did not work for me at all and I when he got "friend-zoned"
A D from me. Only because the animation was the highlight.
