She has aged real well for an actress in her 40's. Usually that is when they start messing with their face (Meg Ryan is a perfect example), but she seems pretty natural.

She looked fine in her House of Cards role.

I think she looks fine, but she does look like she's aged more rapidly since House of Cards (unless they did some major makeup work on the show).

No kidding. Save that crap for the more sophisticated, high brow films...like Tomb Raider.

I was thinking the same exact thing about Selma Blair when I watched the Mom and Dad trailer a week or two ago. Both Neve and Selma are looking damn good still!

I think you misunderstood my post as I think she looks real good for mid 40's as that is usually when beautiful actresses really start to show their age.

The trailer gave it all away.

I have no motivation to see this movie. Pass.

I mean I know he’s making bank, but what’s with all these disaster movies he’s in? Jumanji was a little different, but Rampage, San Andreas, this. He could do so much more, Fast series aside...

Redbox for me probably. I don't have much interest in this like Rampage. Jumanji was good but these recent ones look real bad sadly.

Just learned about a sneak preview this weekend at the local military base. Guess I'm seeing another Rock movie early.

That Die Hard homage just doesn’t look right at all...

Yeah, as much as I loved Rampage this is looking really awful as the release day nears.

Re: Skyscraper (2018, D: Thurber) S: Dwayne Johnson

Okay, just saw it. Not sure I am bothering with a full review. Skyscraper comes off as an expensive-looking generic direct-to-video action thriller that happens to star Dwayne Johnson in the lead. There is absolutely nothing about this movie that plays to Johnson's strengths or charisma. Literally any action-oriented star could have been the lead. And I hate movies that try to get the theater audience to clap for an action set piece just because people onscreen are clapping...

Ugh. It would be generous to give this a 2 out of 5, although if I had seen it as a rental, I would have probably cut it some slack.

And the only things this movie has in common with Die Hard and Towering Inferno is 1) it takes place in a tall building owned by Asians, and 2) it is set on fire.

I saw The Rock and Neve Campbell on GMA promoting the movie the other day. Even though I had a big crush on her in the 90's, I was surprised they cast her in this big budget movie as that sort of came out of left field? I don't know what demo they are going after by casting her because anyone under 35 years old probably has no idea who she is. Scream and Party of Five were 20+ years ago, as it made me feel old when they were talking about them with her!

I wrote an expanded review I will post on Wednesday night or Thursday morning. Sleeping on it did not help this movie at all.

Maybe because she tested well with the Producers/Director and Johnson ended up liking her and that's why she got the gig?

I also saw that interview and they seemed to have a good rapport with each other.

They are in maybe 5-7 minutes of scenes together. She has her own bit of adventure once
Spoiler:
she and one of the kids actually escape the building and end up under police protection.

I suspect that the reviews from fellow dvd talkers for this film will be much more entertaining to read than the actual film will be so that should be fun.

I will eventually see it when it hits cable but yeah...not gonna hit the theater for this one.

is a Rock movie, you get variations of the same formula over and over. And I am ok with that, the guy has a lot of charisma so a 2 hour mindless but enjoyable ride

Re: Skyscraper (2018, D: Thurber) S: Dwayne Johnson

saw a screening of this last night, most of the intentional jokes fell flat and most were laughing at the absurdity of what was going on rather something that was meant to be funny. The villains were just your standard direct to video villains with very little backstory.
Spoiler:
The Rock was good but the leg thing played no part in the movie and do not understand why it is there.
