I'm not sure if it is because it was free, but I enjoyed it. It's a real good B-movie with good talent and a big budget.
I thought Will Smith & Edgerton were both really good. The first hour plus is better, and it gets a little ridiculous toward the end. But all the hate for this is misplaced.
It's a fun time.

I liked the character design in the movie.

Yeah, the bad reviews are totally overblown. I thought it was entertaining. They filmed it all over DTLA and the not-so glamorous parts of L.A. It is a shame that Edgar Ramirez didn't get to do anything. I was expecting badassery, but instead got it from Noomi -- wow, she was awesome. Since there's a sequel coming - I'm sure they'll expand on who the "dark lord" is. It's such an expansive universe that they'd better make a couple more.

“Watched” it while wrapping presents and enjoyed it enough. My wife loves her some Will Smith so there’s that.

Watched it. Didn't think it was terrible or unwatchable, but it's kind of a mess. Some parts were really good (as someone mentioned earlier, Rapace). Others? Not so much. It'd give it a 5/10 rating.

First act was great, but went downhill after the shooting started, which was pretty much what I expected. I'd love to see more of the world/concept but without Will Smith, whose salary I imagine ate up a big part of the film's budget.

It was alright. Hit some really good notes. It's a David Ayer police movie with supernatural elements. I'd put it right on par with Suicide Squad.
Was amused to see this is a Max Landis script. For both Ayer and Landis ... seems like there's a perfect movie out there that they haven't made yet. So I'll always look forward to what's next.

Watched it tonight. I agree, don’t listen to the reviewers. This not great but totally entertaining. 3 1/2 stars out of 5.

I liked it more than SS. Granted, that's not saying much, but it's far more entertaining than SS. IMO.

Just watched it. It was entertaining enough. The character design and world-building was good, though I think the whole orc "blooded" stuff was a little overdone.
The elves were cool. Rapace and her crew were badass. I wish we'd learned a little more about Tikka. I'd watch a sequel.

Where was that at? I was thinking about a re-watch ...
Far better than Suicide Squad. It may not be an instant classic, but it is a pretty solid film. My biggest criticism is that it was too straight forward and slightly predictable. Beyond that though, it was well acted, good special effects, and did a fantastic job building a strange new world.
I would rather see a series than a sequel!
