The last I heard was an in depth podcast with Kevin Smith, Jeff Anderson, and producer Scott Mosier where they explained the status of Clerks 3 Anderson didn't want to do Clerks 2. He wasn't that into acting, had general good feelings about the 1st one, thought a 2nd could be lame, and it's not a big deal to him/worth it to do it for him unless it was perfect. He got convinced to do part 2 and didn't seem to have a bad time making it but they weren't paid what they thought they were owed. Now (this was 4 or 5 years ago) Smith had written Clerks 3 and Anderson said he felt the exact same way about doing a third one as he did Clerks 2 before hand and on top of that he felt he was owed money from part 2 so before he'd think of getting over his reservations the money thing had to be taken care of.

Since the podcast I believe they got some money back so I don't think that's the issue any more but I stopped listening to Smith podcasts two or three years ago and have no idea really.

Looking forward to Reboot even though Jeff Anderson is by far my favorite person at delivering Smith's dialogue and he'll be missed.
