do you know what really annoyed me though. In Empire, on Dagobah, when R2 is swimming and the dragon snake eats him and then spits him out. Lucas changed the wording from "you are lucky you don't taste very good" to "you were lucky to get out of there." It pisses me off every time.
Yeah, it's an old debate, but I remember questioning why some things needed to be changed in 1997, while other simpler things (Palpatine's black slug, poor lightsaber effects, lines around ships in space) were not cleaned up.

That "change" goes back to Empire's original release. The 70mm prints of the Star Wars movies were made before the sound mix was finalized, so they had alternate sound effects and lines of dialogue from the 35mm prints.

The home video releases used the 35mm soundmix, but when they did the DVDs I guess worked from the 70mm ones.

Here's a list of the difference between Empire's 70mm and 35mm soundmix.

Question 7
What was the best change in the Special Editions?

Scoring this one is a bit tricky, so bare with me and make any arguments you see fit ...

From the most recent round of changes, it's nuts that GL decided that R2's hiding spot on Tatooine was something that needed to be fixed, with all the other crap that actually still is wrong with it. (Never mind how the hell did he get in there)

No points for each of these unique answers:

DaveNinja jabba in New Hope

Shannon Nutt More Biggs in A NEW HOPE

It's always about Biggs ... nobody remembers Captain Larry in the middle there.

Decker Nothing/None of them {sd}

I'm always bad at overthinking these Reverses with a limited set of options.
