saw it last night and as long as you suspend disbelief it was a fun flck. I did find myself laugh out loud and hard at the scene in the woods with Nick Nolte as it was just so implausible to be laughable but again I enjoyed it. 3.75/5 give our take, maybe a 4/5...

Not sure if I can even get past the title of the movie.
Someone had mentioned at the time, and I wholeheartedly agree, that not naming the second movie "Camelot has Fallen" was a missed opportunity.

The early concept of this movie was that Air Force One gets shot down and it's code name is "Angel"
But, apparently Butler had the writers re-work the storyline to make it more Fugitive-based.

^ That, and "Angel" was made more to be like the President's guardian "Angel" Has Fallen -- in terms of context.

Smart choice. Not that we haven't seen The Fugitive already, but we've definitely already seen Air Force One. What Harrison Ford movie can they rip-off next time? Firewall? Or maybe Witness?

This premieres on Netflix today (April 4)
I haven't seen it yet, so I'm excited to watch it later.

My thoughts - second half was better than the first half. The shootout in the office complex was awesome.

i want to see all these in order. i know you prob don't have to, but i think some pieces would connect besides characters. but, these seem like mindless fun...

You NEED to watch them in order. That's how Blu fell in love with Gerard Butler. If you don't watch them in order, it give you the opposite effect.

I watched this the day after watching Michael Bay's "6 Underground" and "Angel" was so much more satisfying in comparison.

but Butler was hot shit at one point, but really this trilogy and 300 were his only good roles or at least successful roles. he's made a lot of duds and thus fell out of favor. sure, he pops up here and there, but not like he used to. Gamer, some rom-coms, Law Abiding Citizen which i know got critically bashed and maybe only moderate success with international gross included, but i kinda liked it and the twist. i guess Den of Thieves gave him some more life and i hear sequel in production. Probably Dragon trilogy, but does it count if just voice-over? but reminds me of Clive Owen who is almost nil in movies cept the Gemini Man bomb. he was hot shit after Children of Men and then did some good ones, i liked King Arthur, some others, but faded as well...

I honestly keep returning to these films for Gerard Butler and its commitment to ridiculous action set-pieces.
Nick Nolte, though used sparingly, was incredibly refreshing in this film.

Probably. But they’ll call it Under Siege 2 ripoff which was already Die Hard on train. Not that Speed 2 shit. Man, Olympus is pretty brutal. That opening DC scene, killing innocents was bloody. I like when action movies these days go for the hard R and show the brutality of old. I mean this is a capsule to that Sly/Arnold time. They did these already. But what comes around...

Just watched this on NF and though I don’t remember a lot from the first two, I thought it was an entertaining action flick. The drone attack and final battle were cool, and I found the scene with the
to be surprisingly emotional. The villain was easy to spot, though. I’ll probably watch it again while Netflix has it.
It kinda threw me when I saw Steve Mnuchin was VP.
