Def want to catch this in LA. Still one of the most disturbing films ever made.

A 4K restoration of Henry seems almost like an oxymoron. This is a movie that works with lesser quality.

Somehow I'd find this movie far more creepy watching it on an old beat up VHS than I would a 4K Ultra HD disc.

^Yes, Henry in 4K is silly. It's a grainy, gritty piece not suitable for ultra-high-def. Is this a different cut of the film, or the same one we have all seen?
As an aside, McNaughton is one in a long list of directors (especially in horror) who never again approached the quality level of their audacious, balls-to-the-wall debuts. It must be dispiriting to regard one's masterpiece from the vantage of 30 years later, where one is treading water creatively.

Re: Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer (30th Anniversary Theatrical Release/4K Restor

The 4k restoration of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was amazing, and that was shot in 16mm as well. It will still look gritty and grungy, but it will also have better detail, and get rid of artifacts and flaws from old transfers. It will look closer to how the film was meant to be seen in theaters. Now if they apply DNR or change the color timing, I would agree that this is bad, but the thought that it's inappropriate to do a 4k remaster for a film shot in 16mm is what's silly.

It sounds like it is the same (Uncut) version that we have all seen.

Hoping this comes to Northern California.

Curious if Rooker will do a Q&A in other cities. Just hit up his public appearance manager and hoping he will do LA.

Dark Sky Films (who released the most recent Blu-Ray) said that they will be releasing a new Blu-Ray in 2017, I'm guessing the 4K Restoration?
